COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fine, lively type of beer, with a bouquet produced by premium quality Saaz hops to stimulate the senses - that’s Stiegl Pils. 11.6°

A Mes Rate: 33cl bottle from Whole Foods. Lager-like appearance. Slight head. Malt-driven, cardboard flavoured pils that’s not much better than most run-of-the-mill lagers. Metallic hoppy finish.

On tap at brew wharf. I agree with the review bellow: It’s a larger. Better than most, but nothing worth getting excited about. Clear golden, almost straw-like body, mellow flavor, easy to drink.

Bottle. Grassy/wheat nose. Clear yellow with little head. Highly drinkable with simple flavor. Clean tasting.

It’s a lager. Well made, but just a lager. Hop aroma behind metalic, sour smells. Light, refreshing taste. ultimately clean and unoffensive, slightly bitter and sour.

1/2 liter bottle. Nice clean grassy aroma. Not a hint of corn or wheat. Brassy gold color with a fine white head. Not too thin bodied, firm carbonation, that renders the body somewhat creamy as it leaves. Starts with light clean malt, followed by a flash of hot spice(?), and the hop is always present. Dry, crisp finish, with perhaps a touch of fruit for a moment. Definitely good.

Bottled Sample at The fat Belgian in Toronto. Not a bda pilsener. Not enough flavour for my liking. Would try it again.

This one was alright. On tap at maproom. This was a decent pils, nothing spectacular. Then again, it’s always on tap at maproom.

Rated 1/20/07: 16.9 oz Bottle poured into my pils glass producing a medium straw color with a thick white head and sticky, sticky lacing. Lively carbonation this ones good to look at. Light malty aroma, slightly sharp some bittering hops thrown in. Crisp and refreshing, this bites the palate ever so slightly. Flavor is very well balanced, there’s a light peppery taste to round out the crisp malt, nicely hopped. Nice pilsener.
