COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The original Stieglbock is a powerful finely hopped and traditional Bockbier – the Berman term for strong beer – indicating a bottom-fermenting brew from barley malt. Brewed in August, the fermentation process lasts three months which produces a golden color beer with taste and strengths varying from year to year. This beer is perfect for beer lovers who prefer bold types of beer. 16.5 Plato

Bottle from Billa, Hainburg, Austria. Golden color with small white head. Aroma, malt, bread. Taste, storng in malt, tones of caramel, dry finish. Not bad.

Pours a darker clear golden with a smaller white frothy head. Aroma is sweet and grassy, bready, lightly rich. Flavor follows exactly, nice balance of rich toffee, bready and grassy noble hops. Medium bodied, lightly sticky with finer sizzling carbonation. (this bottle was probably brewed in August 07 so it’s held up quite well if that is the case... not exceptional, but well considering)

Bottle from Utobeer. Clear golden, small head. Nice nutty aroma followed by more nutty flavours. Well-balanced hoppiness. A very good bock beer that is sufficiently dry and not too oily. Still with good nuttiness.

Bottle, has 2006 on the label, don’t know if that’s standard or if it refers to the year of brewing/bottling. Rich sticky malt nose, brown sugar, toffee, dark caramelization, pitted fruits (plum and red berries, faint apricot), molasses/treacle, lots of lovely luscious richness. Just an awesome nose out of the bottle. Pours a clear, pale amber with a noisy, sudsy white head. Taste is somewhat dry with notes of white grape but also mild fusels and airplane glue. Flowers and light diacetyl. Some doughy, crackery bits in the aftertaste but they too are mild and drive a little toward the pungent, reminds of a few minutes after you’ve thrown up. Full, sticky body with some stale carbonation. I really hope this is just and old and mishandled bottle, because the initial aroma was divine.

Glowing amber color/ fleeting beige head. Nice bready yeasty fruity bock aromas. medium body. Dark brown bread, molasses, yeasty flavors. decent.

Golden orange, head of fine bubbles which lasts as a little ring. Spotty lacing. Nose is all malt, really strong and nutty. Medium bodied and slightly sweet and sticky but w/ cushion-like carbonation to keep things from feeling too heavy. Can’t pick out much from this one to keep me interested, decent beer though.

Pours a lovely golden-orange color with small, quickly dissipating white head. Nice carbonation. Sweet, malty flavor with some fruity notes. Palate a bit thin in the finish. Overall, a nice bock, though not perhaps an outstanding one.
