Delicious, sweet and not overpowering in the least, hop presence certainly there too.

Pour is a murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a big caramel malt with some black bread. Flavor is more of a dark fruit. A big raison note comes up. After the swallow I get more of the caramel malt. This may be old since I found it in a bargean bit and that would explane some of the thin mouthfeel but this was still a pleasant beer. This is more like a dopplebock.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy orange-red pour with thin to no head, aroma brought notes of old grainy hops, slight toffee, hints of earth, touch of slight grass, biscuit, some spice in there. Taste is a mix of grass, grapefruit, slight caramel, toffee, touch of biscuit, bread, hints of earth, finishing fairly sweet, slight hints of bitterness.

Bottle @ Matt’s house, picked up at Wine and Cheese. Pours a bit hazy, orangish appearance with a light brown head. A bit oxidized, oaty, somewhat citrusy, a bit bready aroma. Herbal bitter hoppy, caramel, light toffee, a bit citrusy flavor. Blah.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a smallish head. Just a slight hint of sweetness and hops in the nose. Taste feels a little sour, actually. An odd beer...

Bottle. Hazed and kind of tea colored brown. Minimal head. A pleasant aroma of rich malts and sweet over ripe fruit. The first sip is chewy fruit with deep bitter hop notes. Some cinnamon spice and brown sugar. Each sip seems to begin with that fruit and then morphs. Raisins pop up. This does not lack complexity and is one of those beers that goes through changes with temp differences. A fun beer and a tasty one.

Very little head, mostly diminishing, off white, dark brown color, sweet caramel aroma, a lot lighter body than I was expecting based on the aroma.

Deep amber-copper color, good creamy off-white head, some lace. Hoppy, rye bready aroma. Medium-bodied. Caramel, some ryeish bitterness, yeasty kind of notes. Decent beer for great Hall&Oates.

A - Amber-orange with a finger of frothy off-white head. Fades medium. S - Sweet caramel malts, grapefruit and citrus hops, oats, apple, caramelized sugars, touch of bready malts. T - Sweet caramel malts, grapefruit and citrus hops, mild bitterness, apple, brown sugar, caramelized sugars, oats, bready malts, bit of pine hops, bit of Belgian yeast. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet and brown sugary finish. D - Nicely balanced. The apple and syrupy flavors are a bit different but well balanced.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2012 So, I was gonna do this parody rating where I would work in a bunch of song titles, but then I realized I didn’t know enough Hall & Oates songs to do that. I will say, however that it was sweet and the ABV seemed higher than 6.6%. Also, Oats just hung around in the background and didn’t contribute much...
