Bottle @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. Pours hazy brownish yellow with a small white head. The nose is light apples, piss and blanket. The taste is light apple cobbler, some yeast, wheat, saison-like. Some hints of apricot. Medium body. Overall, nothing compelling. Spelt’s a bit strange.

Draft at Tapestry in Philadelphia, PA. Pours a cloudy golden yellow color with a 1.5 finger pillowy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind. Earthy aroma with farmhouse funk, grass and straw followed by delicate floral hops and light fruit. Faint barnyard character with some grassy hops, apple and pear in the nose. Medium bodied but a bit fuller than I expected with a decent balance of funky yeast, zesty spice, musty brett and light fruit notes. Somewhat dry and earthy up front from the farmhouse/saison yeast giving off some hay and grass flavor. I’m not sure if there’s any brett in this beer but there’s a faint musty brett-like quality. Some grassy, piny hops and peppery spice mid-palate followed by sweet citrus and light. Prominent lemon peel flavor in the finish along with some bread, banana and apple.

Some grainy, apple & pear to boot. Light to medium body, spritzy mouthfeel with a medium length, low to medium intensity tang.

Bottle. Pours a clear light gold wit ha white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grain with a bit of wet grass, light fruit and a hint of earthy spice. Flavor begins with sweet grains as well and is joined by a light sweet fruit note, a bit of spice and a hint of grassiness.
