Cask at Max’s. Very dark murky brown, massive brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of cocoa and light spice. taste smooth milk chocolate and cocoa powder. Tastes well above its strength. Very nice.

dark brown, thin tan ring. Earthy cocoa, husky plum and fig. Heavy dark chocolate, more earth, a sticky drying finish with small bubbled but lifting carbonation. Very dry, elegant, and bitter chocolate, a bit masking and stale but overall rather nice. With warmth the staleness and sweetness grows.

Cask at Max’s Belgian Fest. Medium beige head that mostly dissipates atop muddy dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cocoa, chocolate liqueur, light vinous/alcohol. Taste is sweet, cocoa, chocolate liqueur, light vinous/alcohol. Smooth medium-full body, some stickiness.

Cask at Max’s. Opaque dark brown pour with a tan head. Roast aroma with a hint of chocolate and smoke. Dry and bitter cocoa flavor. Light vanilla and cream notes. Roasty with a touch of cherry. Slightly tart. Smooth bitter finish. Intense chocolate flavor throughout.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2011 Big chocolate nose, very dark, some light prune, solid roast. Moderate to light sweetness, tons of very dark and dry chocolate, rather bitter, lots of roasted coffee.
