3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle -- bottled on date 31 May 2014 -- served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours pale amber in color; cloudy with a small head that soon dies down ro a ring but leaves decent lacing.
Aroma: mainly fruity with hints of apricots and oranges. Some alcohol esters.
Flavor: Largely follows the aroma: Lightly spicy and moderately fruity, with a relativel high hop load. There’s only a very mild bitterness in the aftertaste.
Feel: light-medium body and crisp, medium high carbonation. Dry finish.
O: a very good version of the style with high but very well-hidden ABV.

Peach, mango, orange zest, yeasty, quite fizzy, clean finish. Great tasty ale, very smooth despite the wicked abv.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Small white head. Yellow body with lots of small particles.
Fruity mealy earthy aroma with spicy herbal notes. Dryish fruity
resiny earthy taste with peachy notes. Mid-bodied. Slightly
sharp mouthfeel. Dryish mealy peachy winter apple aftertaste
with metallic earthy notes. Quite nice, but the aroma was
better. (0.355l bottle, I forget where from, but probably Ølbutikken,

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I admit, my expectations were low. Bottled 7 months ago, and I rarely get excited about Belgian stuff. I was pleasantly blown away. Pours a very pale gold with nice white head fading to a ring and leaving decent lacing. Aroma is bright, fresh, and crisp with straw, very light banana and clove, light spice, earthy, floral hops... wow this is nice. Amazing how fresh this is after 7 months in the bottle. Taste is farmhouse style, with some nice gentle lemon and banana at first with more citrus hop bitterness that balances. Palate is well-carbonated with some drying in the end that lets the flavors come through and to emphasize the moderate bitterness. Overall this is really good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour is hazed golden yellow with a tight white head. Nose is nice, moderate farmhouse yeast, lighter spice and lemon with faint notes of fresh grain. Taste is sweeter, farmhouse is present and still balanced. More lemon and pepper than the nose, well carbonated light body and fairly dry. Finish is sweet with grapefruit bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Citrus, hint of orange and I taste a little banana? Complex beer, so much so that you don’t even taste the 9% abv.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Glowing bright yellow with lots of floating sediment. Aroma is heavily spiced Belgian yeast. The taste adds banana and clove with honey and lemon zest. Good stuff, pretty complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/13/2013. Pours hazy/cloudy deep gold color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, pear, apple, light banana, black pepper, clove, herbal, grass, wheat, bread, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; with great strength. Taste of big lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, pear, apple, banana, black pepper, clove, herbal, grass, wheat, bread, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spice/hop bitterness on the finish, with some slight fruity tartness; with lingering notes of lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, pear, apple, banana, black pepper, clove, herbal, grass, wheat, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian strong pale ale. All around nice balance and complexity of yeast, malt, and hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 24, 2014 12oz longneck. Tattoo art meets Edward Scissorhands label. Half-cloudy blonde beer with hard little yeast-bergs that swirl around like it’s a beer snow globe. Fruity, semi-sweet, tangy, yeasty aroma. The aroma esters are plummy. Fresh, sweet grapefruit up front. Partially sweet, pleasantly sour, a wee bit astringent, some chemical/lemon cough drop notes. Finish is a little floral and kumquatty. Medium light body, light carbonation. ABV is well hidden. Interesting. ABC, Betton.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled July 2013. Nicely drawn label and a golden pour. Interesting aroma: lemon/citrus to start, with some yeast and honey-like sweetness later. Brett dominates the flavor, and there is some clove, lemon, and sugar also. The label says it is bold and hoppy, but I would not describe it that way. Good.
