Bottle. Pour is very attractive looking hazy golden with an enormous and lasting white head. Not a gusher, just huge carbonation. Aroma is quite sweet with loads of spicy malt, lots of banana, faint hay, and light floral hops. Not as hoppy as the commercial description had me believe. Flavor is very true to nose. loads of spice and faint banana. Not as sweet as the aroma had me believe (thanksfully). Also hints of hay, faint corriander, light grains of paradise, and a lightly sweet finish.

On tap at Milltown (thats right). Pours a soft and pale straw yellow, almost like a white beer. Two fingers of sticky white head. Nose is light and ephemeral, floral notes with some yeast and bread. A touch of peanut butter and bread dough. Light to medium body with a crisp finish and peppery mouthfeel. Yeastsy and peppery flavor.

750, capped and foiled. Pours a cloudy dark gold with a big surging platinum blonde head that settles to manageable levels eventually. Intermittent eggy rings of lace. Big bright floral and candy nose, a little funk and honey there too. Creamy medium body with surprisingly restrained carb, but still a bit of fizz to it in the background. Caramel, honey, hay, and a bit of mineral on the mid palate. Very pleasant and drinkable with decent complexity showing.

Draft at Haymarket. Pours hazy pale straw with white head. Aroma is lemony with orange liquer, hay, honey, and hint of white pepper. Flavors are sharply fruity, orange, peaches, and lemons. Some spicy yeast provides balance. Sweet tart tea finish. Light bodied, easy drinking. Good stuff.

corby112 (2214) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2012
Draft at Tapestry in Philadelphia, PA. Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a 1.5 finger pillowy white head that very slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Slightly earthy, surprisingly hop forward aroma with some grassy pine needle and citrus followed by peppery spicy, bready yeast, light fruit and booze. There’s also a subtle musty character along with lemon peel, mango and grapefruit. Also, some estery light fruit notes, notably banana, apple and pear. Medium bodied with a nice balance of earthy hops, sweet fruit, zesty spice and Belgian yeast notes. Less hop forward than the nose suggests but there’s still a decent amount of earthy pine and sweet citrus/tropical fruit. Hints of mango, pineapple and lemon peel a lot with spicy, grassy bitterness. Not very dry however with bready yeast, alcohol and light fruit countering the hops. Peppery spice with possibly some coriander followed by hints of apple, pear and booze. Subtle heat but the high ABV is well masked making it easy to drink.

Taste is tart lemon, creamy mango, and banana. Some other notes of belgian yeast, piney spice, clove and sweet malts. Very well carb’d. Dry and spicy finish.

Pours yellow with white head. Smells fresh and citrusy. Cereal, malt, pepper, creamy, a bit like evaporated milk, or maybe meringue. Clean finish.
