3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
2013 bottle. Pours clear yellow with a bit of white head. Aroma is fresh bread, clove, currant. Taste is definitely spicy and almost savory/vegetal but offers enough sweetness to balance out quite well. Very refreshing and one of the smoother Belgian Strongs I’ve had in a while.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (12 oz). Hazy yellow with a small white persistent white head and little lacing. Aroma is peppery witih floral/grass notes, lemon, yeast and cereals. Taste is yeasty and peppery with more citrus/lemon than in the aroma, floral/grass notes again and cereals. Alcohol is impressively well hidden. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Dry finish. Dangerously drinkable for a 9% abv beer. I wasn’t a fan at first, but at the end of the bottle I was enjoying it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at Of Love & Regret. This beer poured a nice hazy yellow color with a medium sized white head. Nice lacing! Aroma was nice, straw, hay, and some nice grain/cereal notes. Flavor was a touch fruity, citrus, earthy hops, nice crisp, with a bit of a dry fruity finish to it.

4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I wouldn’t have rated this beer as highly the first time I purchased it, but I find myself going back to buy it over and over again. I think this alone is telling of the beers perfection, as I brew Belgian ales myself quite often so I’m very critical of them. Others have described the flavor as somewhat peppery, which I try to avoid as I’m inherently put off by pepper flavor in beer... but, in this case it’s magnificently blended with a sweet, rich floral overtone and smooth, light body despite the 9% abv punch it hides. There is a delicate noble hop bitterness which accentuates the full body and buttery mouth-feel, which brings this ale to the top of the pack with it’s superb drinkability.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear gold, white head, unexpected for this style. The aroma is pepper, fruit. The flavor is pepper, fruit, citrus. The finish is pepper, citrus, light fruit. Medium in body, a bit light. Nice for a summer day. Light and refreshing. Well done. Definitely unexpected for a Belgian Strong. The alcohol is hardly noticeable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Champanes,
this beer was bottled in late July of last year, so, this bottle has sat around for about six months,
this ale had a hazy medium gold-yellow pour (that almost at the edge of orange, maybe a touch of orange color) and it gave a one to two finger white head of a presentation, the head lowered a bit but was lasting, the glass had lots of carbonation, and this beer left nice lacing on the sides of the glass, the bottle had a thin layer of medium brown sediment stuck to the bottom,
this ale had aromas of orange fruit, nice fruit esters, some floral and faint spice, there was little malt and sugar sweetness in the background,
there were flavors of faint malt (a touch of bread), some pear and orange like fruit, light hops and spice, and there was a little sweetness but not as much sweetness on the mouth as on the nose,
the finish had a faint bitterness and pepper,
this beer was creamy on the palate and had a light mouth feel with average carbonation,
a nice belgian golden strong beer, it had a very nice nose and flavor,
the alcohol was hidden well, a drink I would recommend trying.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Ouch.. Didnt expect such a nice performance from this one. Really nice, huge brew. Malt, hops and yeast makes great aroma/flavour combo. Refined with pleasant tropical fruitiness background, mostly pineapple, peach and mango, some good fitting spices.
Mostly sweet with light bitterness,, bit fizzy. Liked this one. Must repeat
