fidelis83 (2267) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - JUL 23, 2013
Hazy pale gold pour with a 2 finger, creamy white head. Aroma of cereal, toast, spicy and fruity yeast, stone fruit, light funkiness, nice fruity and spicy hops, tart floral notes and light breadiness. Flavor is cereal, sweet malt, a little toast, stone fruit, light vinous notes, nicely forward citrus, floral and spicy hop notes, a little sweet, white bread crust and a sweet malt, citrus and spicy (like Styrian Goldings) hops. Medium body, juicy, syrupy and slightly chalky feel and light, but sharp and blanketing carbonation leading to a surprisingly clean, crisp and off dry finish. Really tasty stuff.

UXO (1134) - CANADA - FEB 7, 2016
Appearance: clear pale gold with one fat finger of rocky head, good retention and patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: dry hay funk, lemon zest, stone fruit, vinous oak. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter, light tart. (8/10) Palate: medium-light body, lively to moderate carbonation, dry crisp and lightly tart finish. (4/5) Another very nice beer from Stillwater. Although they call it a "Belgian Style Golden," it’s got lots of saison-like notes, dominated by a dry barnyardy Brett funk. Easy drinking, impressively crisp and light given the relatively high ABV. (16/20)

MNAle (91) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 31, 2016
Stamped 274:15 11:41, reviewed on 1/29-30. Aroma is fruity, perhaps banana, bready yeast, grass. Color light straw, slightly hazy, vigorous carbonation, tall, white bubbly head. Moderate feel. Mild and fruity taste, banana, almost hefe-like taste which tansitions to a very slightly bitter finish. There is no booziness to this; the alcohol is well hidden. To say this is not what I was expecting is an understatement. Maybe I’m just used to English style of strong ales. To my preferences, this beer is too soft fruity and saccharine. I won’t be buying it again.
