Cloudy, medium ruddy brown with a 1 finger, frothy beige head. Aroma is full of sharp bready, peppery yeast notes, some cereal, toast and spicy hops. Flavor is similarly very yeasty, tons of bready yeast, literally as strong as easting a chunk of rising bread dough or drinking beer from the fermenter near the end of primary fermentation, light toast, nut skins, roast, caramel and floral and spicy hops. Medium dry body with a light, blanketing and quite sharp carbonation. Ok overall, but the yeast was pretty overbearing, and in a raw yeast kinda way, not a fruity, spicy kinda way. Definitely not worth the price, I think I paid $10/6pk.

Bottle poured a dark brown in color with some ruby highlights and a thick one finger off white head. Aroma has grains, caramel, damp yeast, and a bit of rye like spice. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation medium low. Flavor has quite a bit of caramel, grains, yeast. banana, light spice, and mild bitterness into the finish. Some fruit drifts in and out with earthy nuts mixed in. Interesting.....

750 ml bottle pours a deep reddish brown. Aroma is yeasty and a little bit of funky esters. The taste is unique and similar to a marzen/octoberfest style beer but with the belgian yeast. It works! Very easy to drink with not alot of hop bitterness. Well done.

Pours grainy amber with off white head. Aroma is very malty. Lots of barley malt character with a fairly smooth light body. Little bit of spice to, some pepper. Little bit more bitter hops to it that usual with this style. Not bad.

Bottle. Muddy brown and lively upon opening. Malty and slightly sulphuric. Medium body and slightly sulphuric. The label is more interesting than the beer.

Bottle (brewed at Two Roads in Stratford, not Pub Dog).
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark amber-brown.
Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, toasted grain/bread), with notes of banana, clove, apple skin, brown sugar.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Comes off more like a sugary Dunkelweizen, really...only slightly Belgian in character. Very generic and aimless...not up to the usual Two Roads standards.

Great begian ale that has a big amber flavor with a little bit of farmhouse spice and a heafty yeast flavor. intersting to me and almost like a dark saison rather then a straight belgian.

smell is dark and sour....taste is similar but more on the sour/wild yeast taste side. Very mixed on this one....very middle of the road....the sour taste is good, but there is a lack of other flavors here...it is very smooth though.

Aroma seems well balanced between malt and hop character with some complimentary hop notes. Moderate caramel and toasted bread notes with faint darker malt characteristics. Some pear and red apple esters. Light, spicy, floral hop character towards the end.
Pours a brown color with some amber and copper hues. Moderately thick, large, tan head with average retention. Medium high lacing and faint legs. Some foaming out the top when I popped the bottle cap.
Flavor has a moderate sweetness to it with quite a bit of toasted bread and caramel melanoidins. Some light toffee and darker malt notes as well. Faint pear and red apple esters along with some raisin and plum. Medium bitterness in finish with faint earthy hop character. Light mineral character to the water. Touch of acidity.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low but present astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall an alright beer but its not my favorite saison. I’m not quite sure what I find to be off about it, perhaps too many darker melanoidins and some astringency, but something isn’t quite right to me. It definitely has a German character to it and perhaps that combination with the Belgian yeast is what I find odd; when I think of malty German beers I think of clean beers.

Dark brown/black pour with no head. Pepper and floral aroma. Very nice flavor... lots of complexity. Peppery finish, floral notes, dark fruit.
