New Beer Distributors, NYC ($9): Pours blackish brown with a brownish head. Aroma is whiskey, chocolate, roasted malts, and some nice yeast. Taste is rather light for a stout. Nice light whiskey taste... really not overwhelming. Chocolate is pretty nice here. This is a really subtle example of a barrel-aged beer in my opinion. Sweetness is done just right. Slightly boozy aftertaste.

dark sepia, thin beige head. Woody dry cocoa nose, dominated by vanilla. Bit ashy and green up front, woody until the thin bourbon finish, empty oatmeal and oxidation through the acidic end. Palatable, smooth, but definitely past it’s prime.

On tap at bukowski tavern. Nice frothy head, dissipates soon after drinking. Smells like vanilla, caramel, and typical Belgian quad characteristics. Lighter palate, alcohol not overpowering. Tastes like it smells, with some more pronounced overripe fruit or maybe some dried figs.
