Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy golden color with a large frothy white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy yeast, wood and chassis fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium complex sour & sweet flavor with a medium sweet & sour finish of moderate duration. Solid complex drinkable beer.

bottle. be ready to pour, as this was about to overflow! holy smokes. pours a hazy creamed yellow with a small frothy offwhite head. potent aroma of floral, fruity, pineapple. sweet melons. earth, cobweb basement funk with a strong limeaid presence. quite fruity. candy and bubblegum. gummy bears. okay. taste is light lemony sourness, touch of bandaids, medicine. some rotten fruit and melons. infected but not in a good way. complex, but some offputing rot and toasted boozy melon fruit, as well as a weird herbal lime flavors that were not my cup of tea. wine barrel is very much an afterthought, if even noticeable. unique, complex, interesting beer. but too much bubblegum candy sweetness for my liking.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours bright, hazy, orange with a medium, white, head. The aroma is lemons, wheat, apples, caramel, and some definite funky and sour yeast. The flavor is strong, citrus sweetness up front, with a long, sour finish. The palate is light to medium, sticky, acidic and very astringent. The carbonation is light, but adds a nice liveliness. The aftertaste is long, bitter and sour. Overall, this is a very interesting beer, but the elements clash with slightly jarring results. Interesting, but not worth $10.

This poured a semi cloudy golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma was light barnyard and brett, chadonnay, and some herbal hops. Flavor was a nice blend of tart, sweet, and vineous notes, chardonnay is definately there along with light funk and some brett. Interesting.

Be verrrry careful when you open this - the sample I got fizzed all over the place as if doing so would help the Cubs win the World Series! Sadly, I lost about half of it. :( It pours a dark hazy yellow with a fairly thick, though not persistent, off-white head. Malty aroma has a strong sour apple overtone. Flavor is malty with a strong sour apple overtone and a not-so-subtle woody note. Texture has an average body and just a little fizz. Not the best I’ve had, but worthy of a try (and, as the late Douglas Adams said, be sure to bring your towel!)

Serving: 330 ml bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy amber orange color with a fizzy white head. I really like the nose on this brew. Notes of wood, peach, yeast, Chardonnay, and a little floral sweetness. The flavor starts off as slightly tart and then moves to very oaky. Light stone fruit notes linger in the background. Different but quite nice. Light and effervescent on the tongue. Definitely worth a try.

Bottle from StateLine... Nice glowing orange color, decent head. Nose is flowers, funk, chamomile. Taste is dry....bone dry. Flowers, little tart but not sour, little chardonnay with some grapes coming through. Nice sipping beer. Medium body, good amount of carbonation. Overall. Unique...little pricey.

Bottle. Hazy apple juice body, large white head. Aroma is medium sweet, oak, apple, some Chardonnay. Taste is mediums weet, wood, some apple, spicy, light Chardonnay. Light-medium body. Didn’t pick up the Brett.

Murky amber with a small white head. The nose holds cheesy doughy lemon, cheesecake, and coconut. Milk and tropical fruits follow. The flavor makes it seem like this is the beer version of a pina colada. Pineapple, coconut, lemon zest, tropical fruits, and white grapes abound. The palate is medium bodied with fine bubbled carbonation. Dry.

Thanks to lithy, I had an opportunity to try this at the 2nd Pgh Tasting on the 2nd. First let me say that I am not qualified to rate such a brew, its beyond my immature palate. It looks a little pale yellow & cloudy and there seems to be very little if any visible co2. From the beginning I sense a little farmy thing going on, as with many proper saisons. Even the aroma comes across like the inside of a damp barn. A little better than the typical saison, fer sure. Personality is fun and interesting. Not sure if the barrel aged thing is really prominent or not, doesn’t seem to have a big flavor contribution. Is it possible the finish is like the juice under the wet hay on the floor of an old barn with a hole in the roof after a hard rain? Thanks Justin, we all had a nice time at this one!
