Bottle. Light toasted grain, faint dark chocolate for the malt, herbs for the hops, faint dough for the yeast, with a hint of cola. Head is small, fizzy, off-white with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightlyacidic and bitter. Palate is light, watery, with a fizzy carbonation. A pretty good Schwartzbier.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. Pours a virtual black with a foamy tan head and bits of lacing. Aroma of Roasted malt, almost burnt and hint of sweetness in the background. Taste of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Mild bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly light body, smooth with a strong roasted malt character. Nice beer but a bit heavy on the roasted (burnt) malt.

From Craftissimo. Drank with Matt before Grana opening. Opaque ruby-black with thin light tan fizzy head. Minimal lacing. Smells of acidic/burnt malt, herbal lightly floral hop (grass jelly). Tastes of moderate burnt/roast malt, moderate grass jelly bitterness, quite thin otherwise. Body is watery, herbal more acidic finish. Combination of watery palate + burnt/acidic taste makes me think of bad cheap stouts. Acidity is more burnt than sour, though, and aroma is not bad. Interesting idea for a beer but probably wouldn't get again.

Can from new Craftissimo at home. Dark dark brown/light black pour with foamy bubbly light tan head. Aroma is roasted almost burnt malt. Taste is a bit tart - burnt coffee - and roasted. Light. Could use a bit more bitterness maybe. Not bad.
