starting with a base of German wheat & pale malts this crisp slightly hazy foundation was then accented with a blend of Sterling & Citra hops providing a intricate blend of herbal grass & tangerine citrus flavors and aroma. to pull this all together and to complete the ’cleansing’ aspect of my vision i gently finished the ale off with a touch of white sage, lending a mild earthy spice character to the blend. of course let’s not forget our house saison yeast that brought all the elements together leaving a dry yet intricate finish.

Tap. Cloudy orange-yellow . Thin white head. Floral notes dominate the aroma. Herbal. Very dry with a bit of rosemary, herb and flowers. Lots of bitter hops for a long finish. I love this beer.

Well first of all, the bottle says it’s a farmhouse ale, so negative points for calling it something it’s not. Otherwise, it’ reeks of coriander and awful spices you find in your grandmother’s kitchen, and a little bit of french fry aroma. It’s got weird spicy, garden flavors and it all over the top and fake.

May 9, 2015. Bottle at home.
Clear golden with a medium sized white head. Aroma is herbal and earthy with sage, rosemary, pine, coriander, juniper and citrus on top of sweet floral honey. Taste is medium sweet floral with a light bitterness. Finish is light bitter with sage and rosemary, sweet floral honey notes. Light to medium bodied, average, small bubble carbonation.

Golden sparkling pour with white head. Strong funky aroma with sour notes. The flavour is unique, the sourness reminds of what you’d find in a cheese, there are earthy notes, the mouthfeel coats your tongue somewhat. Complex, some herbal flavours from the sage, very very nice.

Pleasant saison aroma which a more floral touch than the average saison. Very slightly citrusy too. Taste is more sweet than the saison I’m used to drink but still it’s a quite dry and very crisp beer. It’s a very well realized beer with nice fruitiness, perfectly coupled with maltiness. Mouthfeel is just perfect, not watery at all and that works awesome with the style. Quite high carbonation too. Again, each sip reminds me how perfectly it’s made. That could be a modern version of the Saison Dupont without any doubt.

On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Pours cloudy yellow with a little head. Aroma is spiced, with citrus notes, malt, more similar to a saison. Flavour is rich and complex, just a bit messy, malt, grain, fruits, yeasts. Mmedium body, good carbonation. Nice beer, it could be a world class if it was a little more refined.

355ml bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a Duvel tulip glass. Slightly hazy golden color with a modest amount of foam that dissipates fairly quickly. Big fruit aromas up front: papaya, passion fruit, citrus along with hints of corriander, cinnamon and barnyard/brett. As it warms up the brett and barnyard flavors take over in a good way. Medium body with a slightly oily texture. Lively carbonation and a nice finish that is mostly bitter with a hint of sourness. It’s like a saison and witbier all wrapped up together.
