Draught @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki
Pours dark yellow with a huge foamy head that disappears quickly. Aroma has notes of fruits, orange, citrus, spices, hops and coriander. Taste is quite fruity and malty with some notes of orange and citrusy hops. Smooth, full bodied and fruity finish. Nice fruity and hoppy wit done the American way.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle, dated 2011. Labeled an American Farmhouse Ale, I drank this thinking it was a Saison, so I’m surprised to see it listed as a Belgian Wit here. Fresh, fruity, citric aroma, full of tropical fruit character, very lightly sweet and malty, some faintly hoppy aspects as well, with notes of light honey, lemon, dough and grain. Hazy golden color with a foamy, lasting head and very nice lacing. Flavor is sweet, malty, fruity and very lightly bitter, with mild pepper, yeast esters, citrus, melon and pear, along with a lightly spicy, peppery note on the finish. Very effervescent, light and almost fluffy on the palate, body, however, is medium-full. This was enjoyable. Thanks to Chris for cracking this, I’m sorry if you didn’t get to try any of it, man.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml. bottle Purchased @ Carl’s Meat market, Kittery, ME. $10.99. Cloudy yellow with fluffy head that floats on top. Flavor of sage, spices, pepper, pale malts, wheat and lemon. Medium-bodied, with a spicy, tingly mouthfeel. Very dry finish. This was a big letdown after the last Stillwater I drank. For the money I could get a much better brew. I think the combo of spices turns me off. Meh.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had this on cask. Poured hazy orange with no head. Smelled of hops, mainly citrus and it had some herbal notes. Tasted surprisingly bitter and the herbal component shined through. This would probably impressed me more cold.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Comes out of the bottle a slightly hazy, pretty solar yellow with a nice thick white head. Malty aroma has a decided overtone of sage - oh yes, you can smell that, and it makes this beer all the more appealing! OK, on to tasting - yummy! Malty, fruity, earthy, with that sage overtone that makes it distinctive. Notes of banana and pear enhance the sweetness without making it too sweet. I do not like beer that is over-sweet! Body is about average, but it is fairly fizzy and leaves a nice malty finish with an overtone of that sage. Get it whilst thou canst!
