3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750mL Bottle. Wonderful soft, herbal malt sugar aroma. Graceful. Oh my goodness. Ephemeral, ethereal, mercurial, this beer is out there. Fluffy, spectacular, and rich. The spice gets too strong and noticeable mid-palate (I’d prefer they be left out of the beer entirely), but add a stated nuance that creates a unique experience. Earthy, smoky in a pinyon kind of way, extremely light and airy. I find the white sage a bit too strong for the style, in my opinion. However, it does lend a mystical, southwestern, desert flair.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Stone. Pale clouded orange amber, good head formation and retention. Bright fresh orange aroma, a touch of yeast. Orange comes through on the palate, a touch of dry peppery spice and yeast. Fairly dry in the finish, light and spritzy on the palate. Great summer beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
20110523 750ml bottle from Wine World. I have had at least two cases of this stuff, and every time I realize I still need to rate it but then I just get caught up in it or whatever else I’m doing. This lovely, refreshing little saison has become one of my very favorites, and a go-to beer for so many occasions., Mostly it’s just my feel good brew, the one I grab when I just want something familiar, pleasant, refreshing, just like Victory’s saison, only three times the price...hehe. Well worth it. Hazy light gold with large, even white head that sheets the glass. Aroma is nicely bready with balanced overtones of sage and citra and a slightly dusty hay note. Soft on the palate and exploding with fine carbonation. Very nicely attenuated with only the slightest sweetness, bread-like, and lingering savory sage and hay to dry out the finish. Nicely done and readily available in these parts. This was my favorite beer of 2010.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 mL bottle in a Trappist glass. Light golden pour with a huge head. Spicy aroma. Glad I didn’t realize this was a saison. I have not really enjoyed many saisons so far. Very nice refreshing flavor of citrus and spices more comparable to a hefe or Belgian wheat but with a nice spicy bite at the end. Nice dry finish. Very well balanced.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 75cl. It pours a murky deep golden beer with a tall white head. Grainy nose which is reminiscent of yeast, earthy hops and herbs. There is a nice bite to this beer. Yeast accented of course. Remarkably grainy. Medium bodied. Relatively strong carbonation. Decent bitterness. Earthy hops and baguette in the finish which is slightly dry. Interesting.
