COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
starting with a base of German wheat & pale malts this crisp slightly hazy foundation was then accented with a blend of Sterling & Citra hops providing a intricate blend of herbal grass & tangerine citrus flavors and aroma. to pull this all together and to complete the ’cleansing’ aspect of my vision i gently finished the ale off with a touch of white sage, lending a mild earthy spice character to the blend. of course let’s not forget our house saison yeast that brought all the elements together leaving a dry yet intricate finish.

6/6/11. 750mL bottle. Hazy light orange pour with a big off-white head that lasts and laces like crazy. Funky, yeasty aroma with touches of herbal aspects and tart citrus fruits. Bitter, herbal, slightly meaty aspect up front with a touch of tart lemon in the middle and a dry, yeasty linger. Very high carbonation. Not bad!

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Pours an unclear and pale yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is malt and spices. The flavor is malt, yeast, fruit and flowers. The palate is sweetness. Overall a good beer.

(750ml bottle from Total Wine Tempe). Pour cloudy yellow-orange with a white head. Aroma has sage, lemon and some wheat. Taste is sweet that follows the aroma. After having Saison Du Buff I was concerned that the sage would be overpowering, but they use finesse here. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Light bitter finish. Nice job with using the sage and balancing it with the saison characteristics.

Very bright yellow with a big pure white head. To smell this beer is to smell a soapy yeast cake. Hmmm.. Dawn Dish Soap and yeast mixed with some spices. It sounds like a bad thing, but it is a familiar and expected aroma with this type of beer. Not off-putting at all. Flavor is clean, simple, and still remains interesting. Citrusy, yeasty, lemony. Crisp, dry, finish which I really enjoy. An awesome summer beer with amazing drinkability.

Keg at Craft Beer Co. It pours light straw yellow, with a very thick, foamy white head. The nose is ginger, zesty lemon, hay and white bread. The taste is hay, grass, lemon, grapefruit, fiery ginger, pepper, herbal, metal, white bread and butter, with a bitter-dry finish. A decent enough saison, but doesn’t stand out from the crowd.

On tap at Poor Phil’s... Dark murky honey gold, a nice off white head, creamy, lasting... Floral hops, strong, a bit of soap, herbal lots of aloe or eucalyptus, don’t like that... Much sweeter than I thought it would be, most of floral musk is gone, spicy aloe... Ok tasting but easy to drink
