Poured from a can with a huge thick foamy head. The aroma is fantastic. The flavor is slightly sour/tart and very light with a mildly bitter finish. Itís a pretty good session beer.

(can - 12 oz) Orange pour with a white head. Spicy and peppery hop aroma. Very floral and peppery hops at the start but then turns slightly sweet and tangy from what tastes like some Belgian yeast. Lightly spiced and bitter at the finish.

From can. Cloudy yellow with soapy white head. Soapy, lemony and slightly banana aroma. Tastes like a fancy PBR, sweetness from corn and rice with a good showing of Pilsner malt. Some grassy hops. Overall a very good summer thirst quencher. It's fairly carbonated so it helps cleans your mouth out if you've been working outside. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

As this is my first official rating one should probably hold back a little praise for the next ale. However I must say I thoroughly enjoy all Stillwater beers. This was purchased from my local, Saint John Craft Beer, in a can. Poured well, good head retention. Left me with a lovely sour refreshing finish. Consumed whilst prepping Sunday Lunch with a friend so I did not have to give it too much focus, because friends are important too are they not?

Pailhead (4606) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUN 28, 2014
Can: The aroma is rather light and consists of light fruit, grass, and lemon peel. It pours a hazy dull yellow with a three finger soapy head that has pretty good retention before fading to a very thin ring. Thereís a good amount of clumpy lacing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a slight hint of citrus with some faint bready notes. The finish has light grass with a touch of lemon peel. Itís light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, an okay summer thirst quencher. Why is this listed as Specialty Grain?

Can pours clear straw yellow. Nose of flowers, grass, hop spice. Taste has bitterness upfront, light flowers undulate. Finish is dry.

Draft on tap at The Bridge (St Louis, MO). Pours a hazy golden orange hue, a bit dulled in the middle with some nice glow on the edges. Frothy offwhite head sits atop and laces ok. Aromas are a bit fruity, apple and rustic grains, a bit of crusty bread, spicy yeast and a bit of gentle funk, earthiness. Initial is a bit fruity, gentle fuzziness and mellow yeast. Touches of fruit, gentle estery and tree fruit. A bit of warmth, some gentle pear and melon, faint bubblegum. Backend is a bit of spice, faint soap and citrus. Mellow yeast, bready malt and a bit of honeycrisp. Finish is smooth, cool, and fruity. Not bad.

Sampled from the tap at The Bridge. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a touch of light tart fruit with a bit of Belgian yeast and a touch of grass. Flavor a nice grass and light fruits with some Belgian yeast and a touch of grain.

Can. Itís an unclear, orange-colored beer with a creamy, finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is faintly spiced and quite citrusy, not much maltyness going on. Some resiny, grassy notes too. Itís full-bodied and soft on the palate, quite dry too. Flavorwise itís just like drinking a saison, with the yeastyness, spicyness and citrusy flavors. Pine cones and bitterness, lasting for a good while. Canít say I really catch this one, but itís sure a fine and refreshing one. 140621
