It’s my pleasure to present a collaboration with The Brewer’s Art. A Baltimore institution that helped to pioneer the Belgian beer movement in the States. Brewed with a combination of Spelt & Rye, accented with a blend of Heather, Honeysuckle, and Hyssop. The result is a rustic farmhouse ale displaying earthy tones & floral characteristics while maintaining intricate balance.

NOTE: This is a different beer than the version brewed at Brewer’s Art.

Pours a clear golden/amber with a large pillowy head. Aroma is yeast, rye, bananas. Taste is very well balanced. Not overdone on the farmhouse funk and smooth creamy mouthfeel. Good beer. Interested in trying more from this brewer.

12oz bottle. Filtered looking orange-tan. Looks very innocuousI and regular beer-beer like. Not much of a head, some soda bubbles. This is a very nice rendition of a Bierre de Garde. Manages to capture a lot of subtle French farmhouse type tones, and also play with some oddball additions. I’m not really digging the aroma, but I enjoy the overall product. Cool beer. Would’ve loved to have the one brewed at BA.

On tap at Voyager. Comes out cloudy gold with lacy white head. Aroma is earthy, understated. Flavors are floral and earthy, slight sourness, slight bitterness, with very light and slightly floral finish. A very classy brew.

I’m not at all familiar with this style, so I don’t know if it’s a perfect representation, or if it falls short.

Draught at Naka-Meguro taproom. Nice fruit salad bouquet, bread, funky pepper, dry finish. Good stuff, quite smooth and good pairing with food.
