COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s my pleasure to present a collaboration with The Brewer’s Art. A Baltimore institution that helped to pioneer the Belgian beer movement in the States. Brewed with a combination of Spelt & Rye, accented with a blend of Heather, Honeysuckle, and Hyssop. The result is a rustic farmhouse ale displaying earthy tones & floral characteristics while maintaining intricate balance.

NOTE: This is a different beer than the version brewed at Brewer’s Art.

Expected more. Heavy carb but isn't too intense. Fades out on the finish leaving you wanting more instead of burning your tongue. A clear presence of Bret but not too prominent.

Bottle. Tall Boys, Leeds. Clear, dark orange. Minimal, white head. Lovely, toasty, bready saison character. The honeysuckle is evident. There’s a sweet, herbal edge, presumably the hyssop. Taste is soft sweet. Slowly turning light dry, and lighter bitter. Some spice on the palate. Slightly sticky. Finishes soft sweet, with a saison, bready finish. Liked this. Bit sticky, though.

pours clear light but bright golden with a small white cap, minimal retention and lacing. green apples and pears, light fruity tartness - lemony perhaps; flowery without being perfumey, classic stillwater yeast - spicy, astringent pepper and berry fruitiness sweetish caramel, candied grapefruit, low-fi phenols. average to light carbonation - some delicate fizz, light body - oily; very lightly tart and dry herbal-spicy finish. nice use of grains/plants/herbs with stillwater’s signature. original, tasty and nicely crafted.

9/7/14. 750mL bottle shared by someone at a VORLAUF meeting, I believe. Golden pour with a small khaki head, mild lacing. Citrus, mild funk, doughy malts, a whiff of tartness in the aroma. Pleasant flavor, citrus, a hint at funk, pale malts, floral. Not bad.

12oz. Big floral notes mainly of heather and the honeysuckle. Flavors come sweet up front with hints of apple and pear blended with all the listed ingredients. Exactly what it is. Damn tasty too.

bottle. Hazy golden with one finger head. Medium body with a fair amount of grain. Rather light with the yeast. Quite pleasant, but somewhat lacking personality.

Earl Of Essex. Keg. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry and a little crisp. Sweetish malt base. On odd skunky floral caramel. Mild ripe fruits. Light dry finish. Odd but not unpleasant.

Pour very light orange gold. Not much head from a bottle. Sweat without being overbearing. Finishes with a refreshing aftertaste. Another great beer from Stillwater! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
