4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black with a nice tan head. The aroma is chocolate, pepper, fruity esters, orange peel. The flavor is totally unique. Roasty malts with a light smoke blend very nicely with tartness and light yeast spice. What a brew. Like nothing I have had.

Advent Calendar. I was a bit let down by this one - maybe it was the fish for dinner? Looks and smells great, but the taste was a bit overly musty and sour for my liking. Would try again with a clean palate.

A roast sweet smell with hints of caramel, this poured nice an dark with a good head that laced well and did not dissipate quickly. A nice fizz up front that did not overwhelm, I could taste the roast and the sweetness. A wonderfully balanced beer that had a pleasant lingering aftertaste.

2.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Craft advent calendar day seven. Pours really nice with a minimal head, beautiful hues. Smells like my old gym socks, which is strange because it was really a decent beer. The higher alcohol content didn’t add much though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brown with a short head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, chocolate, roasty malt, spice and a little funkiness. Pretty interesting taste, like a Belgian brown, some fruitiness, light chocolate, candy sugar and slight tartness. Good stuff.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a copper brown with a finger of head that dissipates to a thin ring through the remainder of the beer. Smell is of apples, peppery spiciness, floral, and clove bouquet, as well as burnt caramel in the background. Flavour tastes of caramel with subtle chocolates combined with the sour tartness typical of Belgian ales. Peppery spiciness remains with a bit of earthiness. Very smooth, and easy drinking for 7%. I love this beer!

12oz brown bottle from Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Very dark brown in the glass, a thin tan ring of foam on top. Nose has chocolate and roast with some spices. In the mouth the beer has notes of earth, dark chocolate, dry roasted malt and background spices. Aftertaste mixes earth, chocolate and roasted notes, some bitterness and herb and spice. The body is medium, carbonation is moderate. A nice dark Belgian spice ale, quite smooth for it’s strength.
