COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Existent represents the philosophy behind Stillwater Artisanal. We strive to define ourselves through our passion and sincerity while accepting that not all aspects of life are readily explainable. To manifest this ideology we present an ale of intrigue. Deep & dark though deceptively dry, braced by a firm yet smooth bitterness and accented with an earthy hop and mild roast aroma. This is an ale for you to define..

’and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.’ –Nietzsche

Note: Formerly brewed at Dog, now at Two Roads.

Found this described as a black saison, and the description is accurate. Saison like citrus flavors dominate. Easy drinking with a pleasant aftertaste.

Tap at The Mikkeller Bar Copenhagen. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a thin off-white head. The aroma is smoky and peaty, leading to a smooth bitter, smoky flavour with some nice malty bitterness on the palate.

Thank Nietzsche for small favors... $8.99 four-pack from Sam’s Quik Shop in Durham. Pours a lovely dark, dark brown with a foamy but think light tan head with decent lacing. Nose of tobacco, char, molasses, some banana, funky yeast, heather. Some wood and earth, and a hint of anise. Pretty dry finish. Really digging this four-pack.
