COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Existent represents the philosophy behind Stillwater Artisanal. We strive to define ourselves through our passion and sincerity while accepting that not all aspects of life are readily explainable. To manifest this ideology we present an ale of intrigue. Deep & dark though deceptively dry, braced by a firm yet smooth bitterness and accented with an earthy hop and mild roast aroma. This is an ale for you to define..

’and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.’ –Nietzsche

Note: Formerly brewed at Dog, now at Two Roads.

stillwater existent. by recommendation. little head dissipates quitckly. dirty brown earthy color, opaque. pretty muted smell at this temperature, a bit musty, somewhat bland flavor. not really a traditional farmhouse or saison by any means. sort of reminds me of a bland abbey dubbel. not really much hops either. mostly watery with a little bit of bitterness on the back end. i just realized this pretty much reminds of a brown ale, which explains why i find it inordinately boring.

330ml bottle served in a flute glass. A: Pours a dark brown color forming a huge and aired bubbled beige head. Great retention and lots of soapy and lingering lacings left in the glass S: Quite peculiar in the nose. Sweet, fruity and citrus followed by some roasted malts followed by some sort of weird mix of tropical fruits (like watermelon and pineapple) and spices T: Slightly sweet taste. Roasted malts. Tropical fruits and spices. Slightly sour. Medium bitterness M: Medium body and carbonation. Watermelon aftertaste O: Great drinkability. Peculiar and interesting beer [ BA Review @ 8/3/2014 ]

Pours a thin head on a dark red colored body. The aroma has lots of caramel, chocolate, milk and roasted malt. Nicely complex. The taste roasted malt sweetness with a bitter lemon back-note, some chocolate, finishes with a little sweet touch. The texture is smooth with good fizz. Enjoyable and different.

Aroma: light grain, medium caramel malts. Appearance: hazy, dark brown, hardly any head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: sweet continue, intense caramel and breed malts, soft carbonation, some toasted flavours, light bitters coming up in the average-long finish. Overall: excellent Belgian Ale, very well-balanced. Pint at Top Hops, Manhattan.

12oz bottle. Dob 11/05/13. Pours a super dark ruby with a three finger, frothy, khaki head. Aroma has great notes of candy sugar, bubble gum, dark fruits, caramel, and yeast. Taste is balanced. Dark fruits, caramel, candy sugar, bubble gum, yeast, and a drawn out aftertaste. Medium body with a high carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a huge, effervescent carbonation. Overall a really interesting beer. Big saison flavours mixed with caramel, dark sugar, and dark fruits.

Tap. Deep brown-mahogany pour with a frothy dense head. Malty, dark fruit, and delicious. I’m really digging this.

Summer Beer Dabbler 2014. Good malt. Thick palate. I’m not sure about calling this a Belgian ale due to the dark color, but in any event there is flavor of dried fruit; figs; a sweet malt.

Rex want the parents. Classy label. Deep cola brown, foggy beer. Then, lacey white head. Malty, fruity, dark dubbel aroma. Very rich and satisfying. Lots of dark fruit: raisins, dates, figs. Light molasses. Moderately sweet, mouthy. Bitterness kicks in on the side of the tongue. Nice bocky aftertaste. 12 oz bottle. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Draft in a fat chalice at Fishale. Dark brown pour with a tan ring. Aroma is light milk chocolate and coffee. Odd flavor. Slightly bitter with hints of booze. Interesting I suppose.

"Had this once before, apparently never got the score down. Dark translucent brown. Nice herbal malty aroma. Dry roasted finish with a little dark fruit, spice, malt and earthy hops. Lightish in body, but quite complex. Nice brew."

Butelka Barwa ciemnego brązu, pod światło rubinu. Piana niska, utrzymuje się dziurawy kożuch. Piwo tajemnica. Są nuty zbożowe, śliwka, czekolada, owoce, ciasteczka, wanilia, ale prawdziwą robotę czynią dodatki nieznane. Rewelacyjny bukiet jako całość, a nie pojedyncze smaczki.
