COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Human history is filled with myths and legends that shape and define our culture. Rituals, celebrations, gatherings.. whatever. One thing that’s for sure, is we enjoy a proper shindig. So let’s get the stories flowing and share a little ’Folklore’. A bracingly deep ale, built dark and rich with an elegantly lean body, accompanied by heady aromas of Belgian yeast, earthy hops and gently kissed by a wisp of smoke.

Picked up a bottle at Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in San Diego, CA. Started to foam over when I uncapped the bottle. Poured nearly black with an enormous, foamy tan head, and seemed overcarbonated with the first sips...but settled down after I let it stand for a little while. Aroma is huge and really wonderful: spicy dark fruits, banana, and brown sugar. Flavors are a very nice, complex mixture of fruit—especially black cherries—chocolate, and a tasty, mellow coffee finish. Medium body and fairly drinkable for a richly-flavored beer. Very good overall!

Flaske fra vinmonopolet vika. Svart ugjennomsiktig farge. Lavt karbonert, noe skum som forsvinner. Smaker mørkbrent malt, sjokolade, kaffe og litt lakris. Hint av Chili helt på tampen av ettersmaken kanskje?. En velbalansert øl.

5-6 oz draft pour at Of Love & Regret. Black with light tan head, brown hues. Aromas of roast, sweet malt, cream, dark fruit. Tastes of roast, chocolate, spices, Belgian yeast. Medium-full body with a semi-dry finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium-low carbonation. Nice.

On tap at Gambrinus in Owensboro KY. Just had a sample. Deep dark pour with a chocolate head. Earthy flavors, very solid stout with a multitude of flavors...coffee, chocolate, a hint of vanilla. We’ll done

Bottle. Pours a dark brown near black body with a ring of head. Smells incredible- some smokiness, nuts and chocolate. Pretty rich overall. Sticky palate with lots of roast flavour. Smokiness is again apparent. Very enjoyable. 2014-07-10

Keg at PSBH, Manchester. Black, as expected, with a light brown head. The first thing to jump out is a smoky bacon influence, which is then joined by notes of coffee and molasses. It’s all carried through an oily, nearly chewy, mouthfeel which is a great conduit for the flavours. Excellent stout.

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Pours almost jet black with a creamy tanned head. Smell of roasted malts, caramel, some fruity esters, coffee and mocca. Moderate sweet, roasty, dark malts, chocolate and coffee, some milky flavors, fruity tones, dried frutis. Nice complexity, moderate bitter finish with earthy tones and ash. After some sips i find hints of chili and smoke. Very nice
