Draft at bistro on bridge. Pours clear brown with a small off white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is quite floral, light roast. The taste is big on the hibiscus, a bit of sweetness, Tastes like you bit a flower.

Head nearly filled my pint glass - took three tries to get it in the glass. Large particles distract from the otherwise outstanding appearance. Flavor is really good for a saison - burnt caramel, fruity and spicy.

Pours pretty much black. Large fluffy tan head. Aroma is malty. The burnt sugar is lovely. Caramel. Some fruitiness. Dark fruity. Berries. Yeast. Mild spice. Some chocolate. Very interesting. Flavor is similar but even more complex. Great roastiness through the finish with the mild spice, fruit, and light to moderate alcohol. Quite dry, woody, cobwebs. Floral. Lighter Medium body. Sweetness to balance. I really got a kick out of this. Creative, interesting, and very enjoyable. Impressive.

Smells a little like a wine, but heavier. Dark and fruity like a wine. Strong, rich, succulent. Rich taste, a slight bit bourbon-y. Spices, malt, a sweetness, light fruit.

375ml bottle. Ruby red glowing, darkest brown colour with average, foamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Multifaceted aroma has a dark malty basis, a fruity interstice, and a yeasty cover which collectively deallocate vinous notes of plum, cherry, dark berries, a touch of Marmite, herbal, earthy echoes of shrubs on the outskirts of a forest. Taste is vinous, dry, spicy yeasty, hints of plums, dark berries and their parings, initially subtle dark malty and sugary sweetness gains more weight and brings about a touch of burnt caramel; some warming alcohol in the finish.

hackobock (1573) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, light spicy yeast notes, grain and wood. Taste is light spicy and medium sweet with a light bitter chocolate character. Medium bodied, was expecting a more spicy "Saison-character" from this one, felt a bit bland.

kramer (5064) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 10, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small fizzy beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is slightly fruity with a bit of dark wheat and light roastiness. Some nice yeast influence. The flavor is dark wheat and light roast with a earthy and fruity middle. Finishes on the drier side with a prominent yeastiness and a lingering roasty finish. Medium bodied with a fair amount of fizzy carbonation. Interesting Saison, but I’m not all that big of a fan of dark Saisons.

Bottle. Faintly sweet and malty. The pour is a deep dark black brown. The taste is dry with a sweet and floral finish. Good brew all around.
