Bottle. Dark fruit aroma with some dark brown sugar. Porter-like brown color, 1-cm dark tan head, lots of yeast sediment at bottom of bottle. Mildly sweet with spices to complement and a cola initial. A bit of burn in mid palate. Fades very quickly in final. Medium body (heavy, though, for saison). Interesting stuff. But so gentle and mild for all the dark malt and spices. A little artificial tasting, actually. The name alludes to Bergman, but there’s nothing quite so deep and dark and existential here.

Good beer, this black saison. It’s grassy, hoppy and even a little fruity, but with a body of roasted malt and some coffee. Spicey as well.

Dark color, large sample. Aroma of roasted malts, some belgian yeast, quite spicy, lots of licorice, some coriander and clove hints. Now that I read it, I can distinguish some rose hips. Thought there was some celery, coriander like note as well, so that might be caused by the flowers or berries. Quite dry, but quite some sugary finish as well. Soft alcohol burn. Elegant, though tough on the licorice. Feels very much like a spicy winter ale.

Why name a beer after a Scanner Darkly? I got to 25 minutes of that movie and threw up blood... . Pours a ruddy brown .. Great lacing, mild head .. . Dirty hay, yeast, wood slivers, and squashed bugs .. . Easy mouth .. . Finish is a bit grungy, decent brew .. . . Being stabbed with a screwdriver isn’t as fun as it sounds, trust me..

I think the Ratebeer Sorting Hat had trouble with this one. Definitely a saison, despite its colour and the addition of flowers n’ shit. Really cool dark pour at Beer Revolution. Lots of floral hibiscus notes on the nose, soft berry fruit aroma. Lots of yeast and carbonation on the palate, but some burnt sugar, raisin, berry sweetness as well. Really cool saison/spicer.
