2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen
Balck color with creamy head. The aroma is sweetish and stale (pond water), overripe fruits, candeish, it reminds me of some poor Dutch Abbey Ale. Good body structure; strange flavor, not real roasted malts, instead some liquorice and bubble-gum; very light yeast spices; sweetish; stale pond water impression; no bitterness.
Classic failed American attempt to brew a Saison, this time more vicious.

12oz bottle from J’s Liquor in Owensboro, KY. Poured into a stemmed tulip. Dark black with a plum hue. Thin tan head. Strong citrus and floral aroma with a hint of malt. Medium body and nice carbonation. Very tangy on the palate with a apple crispness but not too strong. Hints of brown sugar balance out the tartness. Very floral throughout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a hazy copper with very light beige head. Smells malty and mildly yeasty with some berries and mild candied sugar. Some floral notes as well. Tastes like it smells with a bit more yeast; still balanced though. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full-bodied. A solid take on the style.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Enjoyed this 12 oz bottle. Medium body and roasty. Nice at 8% abv. Tastes a little "yeasty" or "bready" on the finish, but will buy again. Not a style I drink often so will revisit.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
No aroma of saison yeast, smells like a belgian brown ale. taste is bittersweet some hints of herbs - probably the rose hips, hibiscus and berries they’ve put in it. But it doesnt do it for me as a saison, or a dark saison. If this would be a Belgian brown I would rate this better, as the taste is quite ok, but if you go for a dark saison, im expecting a dark, saison..
