On tap at King William IV, London. Pours dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Big sour nose, some dark berries and dark malts. Medium sweet flavor, moderately tart with faint roast, some brett bite. Medium to full bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Lightly warming finish with more tart berries, restrained roasted malts, definite brett tang, some dark grapes. Great stuff. The brett adds a distinctive freshness.

Leicht säuerlicher Malzantrunk mit deutlichen Noten der Fasslagerung. Intensiv malzig, die Säuerlichkeit ist aber intensiver. Rund, wenig alkoholisch. Trockener Abgang mit weinartigen Aromen. 9/11/11/12/10//10

Bov (9270) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - FEB 19, 2013
from Erzbierschof - dark beer with a poor head retention; shy woody aroma with sourish notes and black chocolate as well; pretty astringent, full-bodied, some sweetness and a long lingering biting sourness, chocolate and prune - complex but with a bit too much wood presence

Keg at Witterfest (Fano meet the brewer), King William IV - 20/08/12. Very dark brown with a thin tan head. All brett nose, hard to pick anything else out - fantastic ! A little sweet malt at the rear. Hops come through in the taste with caramel and malt, brett still well represented but more in the background. Chocolate and a little wood in there. Medium bodied with an excellent creamy feel.
