COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mikkel and Brian are two of the world’s most unconventional brewers. By designing beers at various breweries around the globe, they have found the freedom to experiment and innovate, resulting in unique beers that often blur the lines of definition. After having met at a festival in Bodegraven, NL the two realized that their first creations both were called Stateside. It was then an obvious decision to make the two recipes into a new product, packed full of piney, resinous hops, and backed by the esters of a farmhouse yeast strain.

750ml bottle. Fresh, floral aroma, tropical, lightly citric and sweet, with notes of pineapple, orange, honey, lemon, powdered sugar, grassy tones, and some faintly doughy yeast. Cloudy medium golden in color, head is frothy and lasting, also some impressive lacing here. Flavor profile is fruity, lightly hoppy and gently sweet, with good interplay between the lightly sugary, honeyish, toasty malts, fresh, fruity hop character, tropical fruitiness and yeast spice, a decent bit of earthy bitterness showing up at the finish along with suggestions of melon and pear. Plenty of effervescence to be found, palate is semi-dry, body is medium. Refreshing, flavorful and enjoyable.

Intentful carbonation producing a pillowy but consistent grey/white head and dark yellow body. Upfront Yankee hop action, with a dusty yeast backdrop. Firm Belgian sweetness, gritty but smooth mouthfeel allows for a suppable strawy malt thread. Peppery linger drys things out as much as the carbonation, but with a continued syrupy sweetness.
Better than I remember off Keg that one time in Brewdog, I think.

(Rating #4601)

750 mL bottle from Sun Devil Liquors in Phoenix AZ, served in a snifter. Pours hazy golden-amber with intense carbonation and an enormous, fluffy off-white head that remains and laces well. The nose has intense notes of pine and resin, along with grainy, caramelly malts and Belgian spice. The flavour is dry and slightly sweet throughout with caramel malts and grainy notes. It is balanced with a large amount of bitter, piney, citrusy hops, pepper and spice, coriander and farmhouse notes. The finish is long, moderately bitter and spicy, a continuation of the aroma and flavour. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and intense carbonation. Overall, this is a great brew, a blend of American hops and Belgian yeast notes. Saison meets IPA with a Belgian twist. 2012-03-15
