COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mikkel and Brian are two of the world’s most unconventional brewers. By designing beers at various breweries around the globe, they have found the freedom to experiment and innovate, resulting in unique beers that often blur the lines of definition. After having met at a festival in Bodegraven, NL the two realized that their first creations both were called Stateside. It was then an obvious decision to make the two recipes into a new product, packed full of piney, resinous hops, and backed by the esters of a farmhouse yeast strain.

The aroma is very yeasty and fruity with malt, grass, and leaves. The appearance is hazy gold with a large head. The taste is like the aroma with a bitter finish. The palate is average. Overall an interesting beer but a bit to hoppy for me.

there is lots of character in this beer. flavors of golden wheat malts and the use of lots of herbs and spices including rosemary, white pepper and thyme. its really frothy with some massive head retention.

25.4 oz. Bottle, I’d brought home from Baltimore. Purchased at Urban Cellar in 7/2012 and stored in the fridge. A beautiful Belgian strong ale from two greats. Pine hop, grapefruit sour scent, a touch of resin. Bit white bubbly head of a orange copper pour. Lighter bodied than I expected with a fizzy feel. Pine hop fronted taste, grapefruit sour dominated taste with some yeasty earthiness underneath, and resin on the finish.

Bottle from recent Maine trip. So looking forward to this one, what would be the problem then? Fresh fruity and yeasty aromas greet me. Tasty peach, apricot, lemon, white pepper with the mix. The problem - way too much carbonation.

Tried this beer in the bottle at Public House in the Venetian/Palazzo Las Vegas, NV. Nice piney hop and farmhouse yeast notes in the aroma and taste. A great collaboration, a great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Poured a hazy deep orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma of hoppy dry notes with semi-sweet Belgian malt base is quite nice. Taste is a complex mix between some hoppy dry notes with light cat pee notes which are well balanced against some sweet rustic malt notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Another solid offering from a brewer that I love more and more.

Bottle 750ml @ Henrik Øl og Vinstove, Bergen
Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, sugar, wheat, fruity, peach and orange peel. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long fruity finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

750 ml shared bottle @ @ Henrik, Bergen. Slightly hazy golden body with a white head. Delicate and quite light aroma of fruit, flower and spices. Flavor is light malt, citric fruit, spices and pleasant bitterness. Fine body and medium strength aftertaste. Quite complex and a bit unusually, but really pleasant. Could easy be taken for a Saison.

Growler filled at Greenville Beer Exchange. Blend of an IPA with a Saison...interesting A: Pours a transparent gold color with a wispy head. Retention is decent S: Right off the bat you get some alcohol, which is OK because its not boozy or anything. Light funk and great earthiness compliment the American hops, delicate malts, and the underlying sweetness. Very nice T: A good wheaty note, light funk again, pretty hoppy, and pretty malty. Nicely integrated. The taste is a little thin and lacking a lot of complexity, but delicious. MF/D: Hardly any carbonation, slightly oxidized, light body Notes: *This was a partial growler fill, so oxidation and carbonation were expected to be a problem after the 45 minute car ride home*

Bottle shared by Jay on opening Sunday. Poured a hazed orange body with an average sized foamy sticky white head that left lots of lace. Aroma starts off slightly sweet with notes of sugar and honey, wet bread molasses, yeast. Fuller fizzy body with a sweet finish of an average duration. Flavor seems a touch sweet with notes of sugar, fruit, toast, molasses, dry citrus rind hops. Solid.
