COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mikkel and Brian are two of the world’s most unconventional brewers. By designing beers at various breweries around the globe, they have found the freedom to experiment and innovate, resulting in unique beers that often blur the lines of definition. After having met at a festival in Bodegraven, NL the two realized that their first creations both were called Stateside. It was then an obvious decision to make the two recipes into a new product, packed full of piney, resinous hops, and backed by the esters of a farmhouse yeast strain.

750ml bottle -

I’m quite familiar with Mikkeller but haven’t had a Stillwater product, so I think for the first time with them (and with the help of Mikkeller) it was a nice introduction. The beer pours out a hazy copper hue, tight bubbles with a dense creamy off-white head and it left behind some fantastic lacing. Aroma kicks things off with some vanilla-orange-creamsicle character going on, fruity, honey, yeasty and wet wood. One sip and immediately the yeast hits me. Huge notes of spicy yeast, honey, lime zest/citrus with a light toast finish. Mouthfeel is on the mineral side, finish is clean. Really nice.

Bottle at the Klooster, Delft. Poured a hazy medium amber with a huge frothy white head. The aroma is big yeast citrus, burnt sugar, pine needles. The flavour is light sweet acidic, light sour with some bitter notes and a yeast woody dry light bitter palate. Medium bodied with frothy carbonation and a bubbly mouthfeel. Lots of flavour and very refreshing.

Bottle to pint glass Apricot, lemon, candy floss, resin, pine, and farmhouse yeast. Clear, slightly hazy amber with a long lasting, but thin frothy off white head. Taste right off is fruity but then the bitter blast comes which lasts and lasts.

Nice. Bretta and hay with some hops. Pours cloudy orange with great head and lacing. Finishes with light, lemony sourness and a touch of peppar. Bretta brilliantly balanced. Bottle thanks to JT. Nice citrus all around. Great collab between two great breweries.

Bottle. Moderate hay and cereal for the malt, dried grass and lemon for the hops, barnyard and earth for the yeast, with wood, pepper and a hint of clove in the background. Head is large, fizzy/frothy. light beige with darker swirls, with good lacing and is fully lasting. Color is murky, medium amber/orange. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation and finishes a bit dry. Not as bitey a flavor as I expected, and very smooth. This Belgian Strong Ale from the first pour to the sedimentary last pour.

Review from backlog, tasted 06/23/2011. Pours opaque, dark orange with huge off-white head, settling into a nice frothy layer with lacing all around. Aroma is yeast, herbal hops which blend into a more piney character, followed by sweet, citric fruits, oranges and lemons. Taste is orange, spices, some farmhouse character, bitter herbal hops and lemon rind, long bitter finish. Body has excessive carbonation, too prickly and rough. Decent.

Bomber. Poured clear golden with a large white head. Aroma and flavor -- lot going on -- dry, moderately bitter, grassy, herbal, earthy, musty, mildly funky, citrus, spicy, a bit peppery. Quite good. Slightly thick mouthfeel.

Bread, with a kick nutmeg. I could go on about this beer for ages but i think a superb, simple would be enough but why not wax a little lyrical about a beer as good as this. So hoppy you would think that you could eat it, so yeasty that you imagine it could be sliced. Keep up the great work.
