COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For the first edition of the Stillwater Import Series I traveled to the village of Beerzel, located in the Antwerp province of Belgium. Here I teamed up with brewmaster Jef Goetelen to craft an authentic Belgian version of my liquid interpretation of the Spring season. A recipe originally contrived a few years prior as a collaboration brew with my good friend Paul Kretzer. The base is German barley & wheat, with a touch of Belgian aromatic; accented with grassy hops and an array of spring botanicals (heather, chamomile, lavender, & dandelion). Like a fresh meadow in spring. (now currently brewed at Two Roads in CT)

Pour is brown with huge head. Nose is explosive citrus and spice. On the palate it is gorgeous with nice hop/malt balance and touches of fig, corriander, and more.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2013 Complex aroma gushing with lavender (stuck with me, and took me several days to identify) interplays with sparkly, warming sweet ginger and apricot flavors, also with slight peppery note like grains of paradise or from the yeast. Carbonating is moderately high and thereís a mineral softness (like a hint of mud or tin, but with finesse) that brings it all to a lush finish. Ready for next sip.

Great beer from a great brewer. Has your Belgian backbone, the full effervescence and tangyness. Fruits in the aroma, some lemon and grass.

Very nice, unique clove/floral smell upon opening. Good color and carbonation. Light rounded flavor profile good for fall or spring days. Chai tea taste with a good mix of citrus and fruit flavor. Very enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pale orange straw colour with a tight white head. The nose has a lot of sage and chamomile and bright floral aromatics. Very clean, but bready Belgian pale malt base with a little bit of a gruit-type of aroma and flavour as well. Thereís a bit of soft pepper and some light chamomile flavour. High carbonation that lends a prickly sort of mouthfeel. Some wheaty spice as well. The floral notes are really bright and very appealing... damn - I love this stuff. Gruit meets saison. Iím sad I only had a single bottle of it.

The appearance has a clear golden color with a small white head, and the aroma blends Belgian yeast, sweet fruit, nutmeg, and chamomile. The taste is very indulgent with a slight spice, mild sweetness, and a slight sourness; the palate fuses a medium body, nearly oily texture, soft carbonation, and a finish that is the extension of taste.

Pours a golden yellow with a white foam head. Has an aroma of sweet belgian yeast and lavender, along with a little bit of funk. Flavor is sweet, with lots of spices, particularly lavender. Has a full body, syrupy feel. Excellent all around.
