Pours a pale straw color with a tall white head. There is a nice spice and herbal aroma to the beer along with a subtle funkiness and a touch of fruit. Lots of yeast and grass aromas with a solid pale/cracker malt base. The flavor is lightly sweet with bread and cracker malt flavors. Lots of spice and yeast flavors with a subtle fruitiness.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a large, frothy white head, medium-long retention with good lacing. Aroma is Olde Bay seasoning, straw and meal malt, light esters and spicy hops. Flavor is complex light malts married with Olde Bay seasoning, light esters, medium bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, low warmth, high carbonation.

12oz bottle: pours a clear bright golden with a large airy froth of white head. Has a lightly sweet biscuity malty nose with some floral hop notes and light yeasty esters. Starts with a lot of effervescent carbonation and light sweetness with good bitter balance and subtle peppery notes before a drier finish. Doesn’t seem to have a lot of Old Bay character to it, but is a pretty good saison nonetheless.

Bottle at Paul’s tasting. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Musky saison yeast on the nose, soft and dusty. Medium bodied, sweet and delicate, a touch of spice. Finishes with more muskiness and soft yeast.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2012 Bottle at Paul’s Dec 3rd tasting. A great beer shared by Brian. Pours a golden body with nice white lacing. Aroma is pepper, spice, and dusty wheat. Mouthfeel is soft with interesting pepper notes, coupled along with spice, corn flakes, dusty flavor, and yeast. A truly unique saison, which I imagine would go great with crabs.

Bottle picked up at Max’s 2011 Baltimore Beer Week Stillwater event. Served in a Mikasa tulip. Reviewed from notes. Pours a nice golden-copper color with a good white head and a bit of lacing on the way down. The nose carries some light pepper and spice plus a mild fruitiness. A bit of grain as well. The flavor has some spice, though nothing that is easily identifiable as Olde Bay seasoning. Touch of fruit. Light body with some spritzy carbonation and a nice dry spice to the finish. Quite tasty.

This poured a murky yellow color with a white head. Aroma was of yeast and spices, some dusty hops too. Flavor was much the same, spicey and dry, but didnt really get any specific olde bay notes.

Had this at Ratebeer’s Horny Devil Pittsburgh Winter Tasting 2012. Big thanks to Kevin for this gem. Some farmy notes on the olfactory. Slight hazy pale yellow. Very thin creamy head. Lots of very good sizzling co2 in this beer, makes it fun. Has some farm in the taste too. A rather light well behaved beer that comes across somewhat refined. Just enough beer bitter personality to let you know it is beer, well controlled and never over the top. An overall good beer tasting experience. Barely any bitterness on the finish, clean and crisp. BIG THANKS mrchopin!

Bottle. Pours gold, slightly hazy, with thick white head and great lacing. Aroma is spice with notes of yeast and grass. Flavor is typical saison with heavy spice with the Old Bay flavors coming through at the finish. Medium body with heavy carbonation and finishes with a pepper and hop notes. Good beer that would pair great with seafood.
