3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Magnum via Beer&Blues2. Thanks Dude. A slow gusher after careful handling. Pours a weird hazy yellow with a green tinge about the edges. It made me look twice from across the room...as expected with the slow gushing a large growing bright white electric head towers above. Mellow nose of wet straw and hay, tea leaves and light funky yeast. I took me awhile for that, like most of the beer. This critter is a complex solution. Light and genteel body, with a distinct champagne tone. An undulating herbal tone rides from start to completion. I would normally say spiciness but it wasn’t that kind of tang. It doesn’t seem like Brett yeastiness either, but I suppose it was their three strained mixture. A lovely light brew that was easily consumable. If this was available on tap, I would seldom consume anything else.

Pours golden with lingering head. Aroma and taste are heavy on the Brett. Nice fruity notes and texture.

Bomber. Poured a funky shade of electric yellow with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up lemon zest, cloves, and a healthy dose of fruity Brett over a soft bready base.. a hit of grains I couldn’t place as well (spelt?).. fresh and intriguing. The flavor found tart lemon rind and funky Brett throughout.. bread and a kiss of sweet corny notes at the core.. finished very dry and a bit tangy, with a long lemon, funk, and floral notes sticking around for a long time. Light-medium bodied and engaging through the palate.. crisp, funky, and enjoyable.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A - Pours a cloudy golden-yellow with a big finger of frothy white head. The head fades down very slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of sweet grains with some corn, citrus hops, some lemon peel, some funky Brett, and some tart green fruits.
T - Starts off with a mix of sweet corn and other grains with some citrus hops, some mild bitterness, and some tart lemon zest and other green fruits. Through the middle, more funky Brett character comes through with some more tartness, with just a hint of spice. The finish is a mix of sweet grainy malts, funky Brett, and tart lemon zest and green fruits.
M - Medium-minus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, tart, and funky finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice crisp finish with good Brett character throughout. Well balanced.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The beer appears a hazy, straw yellow hue with a lasting white head. The aroma is enticing, offering a bouquet of floral notes, citrus, earth, yeast, grass. The flavor has all of the aforementioned characteristics, as well as a pleasant spice character. The feel is smooth on the palate, finishing dry with a crisp hop character. Light bodied, easy to drink, complex, delicious. I would happily have this again. Recommended.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at Spuyten Duyvil for Zwanze Day 2012. Pours a cloudy light yellow color with a bright white head. The nose is thin but stingy with brett and modest malt sweetness. On the palate it is refreshing as all hell. Nice citrus and zing from the Brett but smooth mouthfeel. I have no clue what beer was like during Prohibition but I doubt it was like this. No matter... super tasty.

22oz bottle in a shaker. Pours cloudy golden with a fluffy, white head. Aroma of light malts, some floral hops, and an interesting earthiness from the yeast. Flavor the same, with a good blend of everything. Average to light texture. An interesting beer, but it’s not the best in my opinion.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2013 Bottle courtesy of Paul at Spuyten Duyvil during Zwanze day 2012. Pours a clear golden body (more haze as you work your way to the bottom of the bottle) with nice white lacing. Aroma is delicate brett, fresh grassy hop, clean malt, light funk and citrus. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp with notes of freshly cut grass, hops, tons of Brett, light citrus, funk and a nice earthy finish. Awesome and sessionable.

Poured from a bottle at zwanze day thanks to someone in RB crew for purchasing. Pours golden with frothy white head. Nose is pretty funky indeed. Tastes of Brett, floral, oranges, earth, and barnyard. A tart sourness and extremely drying. Fun brew
