3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours light gold into a tulip. Bright white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Sourdough and funk aromas. Dry with sweet caramel and sourdough upfront turning to marshmallow and band-aids before the lasting bitter earth finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a clear light yellow body with a rather large frothy and fizzy white head. A touch worried about this one, as soon as I popped the cap the head came crawling out. After I poured the first glass I had to fill a second as the head breached the top again. Turns out itís pretty much OK though, just a bit excited I guess. Smells pretty interesting, canít say that I get a whole lot of the íspecialty grainí character from this, itís so big on the farmhouse yeast and brett that thereís not much sense of the malt at all. Thereís some nice floral hops though, which work really well with the brett. I really like the combo of brett and Saaz specifically. The flavor is very dry and full of pixie stick brett character and a bit of cobwebs and dust throughout. I think thereís a bit of an odd perfumy or soapy like flavor that permeates everything that may be from the mix of corn and rice with the funky yeastiness. I do tend to like the hops in here, but Iím not sure the complete mix works for me as a whole. Light bodied and dry with nice soft fizzy carbonation. Interesting beer for sure, but not sure Iíd buy another. Iím always for trying new things and stepping out of the box with recipe formulation, but sometimes taking chances means an occasional miss.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draught at the Porter. Also picked up a bomber from Greenís. Almost overlooked it. Lively clear golden pour with a big, thick puffy white head. Aromas are like wow. Lots going on. Notes of lemon, funk, more citrus, a good punch of old dusty books. Kinda reminded me of an Orval in appearance and initial impressions. Flavors were slightly tart and dry. Almost bittersweet in the finish. Nice lemony presence all around. Super dry and refreshing. Tingly mouthfeel. Love the idea, perfectly executed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2013 Bomber from Caponeís. Pours turbid paler than pale gold with huge 3-finger fluffy white head. Nose is very tart, very lemonadey, with some lactic sourness and hops. Tastes tart, lemony, mildly hoppy, with a medium finish. This one is a bit odd, but rounds out a bit and finishes much better than it starts.
Re-rate 09/06/2013. Initial rate was not in line with my standards. This one is a bit odd and unique, yes, but not bad.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
The aroma is very bad like a dirty public bathroom, wet blankets, earth, and adjuncts. The appearance is cloudy yellow with a foamy head. The taste is malty and not as bad as the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall this is surprisingly bad.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This beer is overly funky. The aroma is rancid with a bathroom quality. The taste is bitter but not in a good way. A slight bread quality. It's not very good at all.

Cloudy yellow soup. Horse blanket and pineapple on the nose. Thin and bitter. Not pleasant. Gross in fact. I canít imagine the scene where a brewer samples a train wreck like this and says, "bottle it."

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Magnum via Beer&Blues2. Thanks Dude. A slow gusher after careful handling. Pours a weird hazy yellow with a green tinge about the edges. It made me look twice from across the room...as expected with the slow gushing a large growing bright white electric head towers above. Mellow nose of wet straw and hay, tea leaves and light funky yeast. I took me awhile for that, like most of the beer. This critter is a complex solution. Light and genteel body, with a distinct champagne tone. An undulating herbal tone rides from start to completion. I would normally say spiciness but it wasnít that kind of tang. It doesnít seem like Brett yeastiness either, but I suppose it was their three strained mixture. A lovely light brew that was easily consumable. If this was available on tap, I would seldom consume anything else.

Pours golden with lingering head. Aroma and taste are heavy on the Brett. Nice fruity notes and texture.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Poured a funky shade of electric yellow with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up lemon zest, cloves, and a healthy dose of fruity Brett over a soft bready base.. a hit of grains I couldnít place as well (spelt?).. fresh and intriguing. The flavor found tart lemon rind and funky Brett throughout.. bread and a kiss of sweet corny notes at the core.. finished very dry and a bit tangy, with a long lemon, funk, and floral notes sticking around for a long time. Light-medium bodied and engaging through the palate.. crisp, funky, and enjoyable.
