Tap at Spuyten Duyvil. Pale ruddy amber pour with a light white head. The nose is quite acetic with a lot of bright cherry aroma. Oaky and fruity with lots of estery flavour and a very prickly lactic tartness on the finish. It’s quite rich and chewy from the acidity, despite being quite dry. Oaky and yet light with a yeasty complexity behind the funk. It’s quite earthy and chewy and pretty damn tasty actually.

Draft @ SD. Reddish brown pour with tan head. Flemish red, made in the US, Huge full cherry, tartness and light yeast flavors. Flavor lingers in a good way. Nicely sour!

The aroma is funk, toasted malt, light fruit. The apperance is a dark red color, translucent. The flavor is light funk, cherry, vinegar. The finish is sour, tart fruit. Very enjoyable sour.

Cask. Lightly hazed brown-red body, no head. Aroma is moderately sweet, sour cherry, some funk. Taste is moderately sweet, sour cherry, some funk. Flat light-medium body, some stickiness.

On tap at Spuyten Duyvil for the Stillwater event. Pours a clear cherry red, with just a touch of a thin white head. Caramel, sweet, woody. Really nice oude bruin aromas on here. Transitions into something unexpected in that it doesn’t go sweet like others with a similar aroma profile, but turns into soft lacto, lightly sweet cherry, and a big tangy sourness that builds. Light malt, crisp sourness.

Tap at Spuyten duyvil. Has nice acetic acid, smells slightly of cough syrup. Kind of lackluster aroma. Flavor is excellent, very reminiscent of Rodenbach (regular), with a great vinegary sourness, malt backbone, and slightly ashy finish. Cherry shows up again a cough syrup, which distracts from an otherwise fantastic brew. Great stuff.

Tap at Spuyten Duyvil: Deep ruby red with a fading head. Old, faded sweet cherry aroma. Seems sweet, but the flavor is nice and acetic. Rodenbach yeast qualities come through balancing the sweet cherry note. Slightly oxidized, with a moldy wood subtlety. Interesting US interpretation of a Flemish Red.
