Pours a cloudy golden, with sediment present, and a decent sized eggshell head that settles to a thick ring and leaves some soapy lace. Nose involves stone fruit, grass, juicy fruit gum, hay, and sea air. Somewhat sweet, fairly tart and fairly bitter. Medium-light body, somewhat oily, juicy, with a long fruity, grassy, and drying finish. Nice brew.

At just on cool and into a Saison tumbler. It produces up a medium gold, sunny and not quite bright. Crowned off by a thick, mountainous, snow-white foam that holds for the length and laces wickedly. There is a touch of fresh toasted Macadamia on the nose amongst hints of pear drop candy, mace, over-ripe guava, bready yeast, a strange note of green olives, and brine. Belgian, candyish twist on the tongue. Bold, pale fruit like lychee, pear and mango come through as does the guava of the aroma. Palate is smooth, carbonation soft with a firm body. Nice, tangy fruit length, again bordeline candyish and yet quite dry and parching. Yeast dominated, spicy with a light floral zing and touch of wood and dowdy, dusty malts. Peppery with low bitterness. Keeps well, even as it warms. A year in the bottle hasn’t swayed this. Quite a pleasant Saison. Good stuff!!! (33cL, Bottled 12/04/13, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

Pours cloudy bright yellow with a foamy white head. Strong pepper and clove aroma. Good malt use, zesty orange tang and yeasty herby finish. Good saison but not the best ever

From 341 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear straw-yellow with a pillowy white head that settles to about one-finger height. Aromas of funk, lemon, cloves, pepper, apple juice and orange zest. Taste starts out with a fruity note with apple and orange before a big lemon zest and pepper bitterness washes through. That lasts right through the back end, giving a sharp spicy finish. Marked spicy aftertaste. Huge flavours. Impressive.
