Draught, KØ11. Slightly funky aroma, OK notes of light malts. Cloudy orange colour. Small stable white head. The flavour starts off with a good citrus note, milder than lemon, but more refreshing than orange. Good bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, shared with Palme and RuneStumo @ Henrik, Bergen. Hazy orange body, small white head. Nose is baker’s yeast, burnt rubber (first time for me in a beer!) and orange peel, with hints of sour apples and dough. Taste is yeasty mellow tones of citrus, sweet grapes and hints of something resembling mango. Extremely balanced and well-crafted but ultimately not too exciting for my palate. Maybe I’m just stuck up on more extreme beers, but Stillwater’s subtle crafts don’t really do it for me.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle
I finally got around to opening one of the growing number of Stillwater beers that has been resting in the cellar. It seemed like ideal conditions for a saison so it got the nod. If the rest are anything to go by then I look forward to the rest.
Aroma and appearance - Mildly carbonated the body bubbles like the pockets of air from the bottom of a pond. A transparent copper body moves lazily around the glass. The white head takes a long time to finally settle down. When it does the nose contains lemonade, herbs, and piles of pulled ragweed on a warm summer day.
Flavor and palate - The heavy texture is chewy and coats the tongue like teflon. Warm sage, honey, and herbal tea provide a gentle reminder of the origins of this beer. Close to the intended style it brings to mind a busy farmhouse near the end of the day. Drinking this makes me want to clear a few more saisons from the cellar in the next few weeks.

Taste is semi-sweet with fruit notes, big dusty yeast, soft spice, floral hops, wheat, earthy notes, straw, grass, citrus zest and malt. Body is light-medium with a strong, bubbly, effervescent carbonation. Dry towards the finish as well. Ends with more big yeast notes, floral hops, grassy hops, light spice, dried tropical fruit, grains, and malt notes.

Bottle at Monks’s in Philly. Good beer, aroma more of glassware than of beer. Attractive deep orange blonde appearance. Nice taste and finish though. Sweet sugars and spices. Malty orange hops and earthy appeal.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(750ml bottle from Total Wine Desert Ridge). Pours a cloudy yellow-orange color with piloow-top white head. Active carbonation. Aroma has lemon, spices, pepper and wheat. Taste is malty sweet, emphasis on malt, with some bittness. I’m not digging the maltiness at all. Medium bodied with oily texture. Slightly bitter finish. Not bad, but too malt forward for my tastes.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
First of all, I drank this on a very hot day. That made it very refreshing.
The nose was very lemongrass. It had a very full palate. Citrus like flavors, like orange peel, and other spices, mellow bitterness, not much sweetness to counter. Dry finish. I would say its very complex. Good stuff!

Small white head. Slightly hazy deep yellow body. Deep resiny oranges and sage aroma with earthy coriander notes. Sweet-dryish earthy mealy dusty taste with oranges notes. Fullish body. Mild, dusty mouthfeel. Dryish sage and oranges aftertaste with coriander notes. Nice, but a bit too sweet. (0.75l bottle, Håndverkerstuene, Oslo.)
