UPDATED: AUG 6, 2011 Bottle. Yeah, this is somethin’ I have to do for myyyyyself, yeah. What say you, and all your friends meet all of my friends, in the alley with knives! Pours a huge glowing orange with a big ’ol off-white head. Aroma of pineapple, pear, green apple, funky esters and green grapes. Fuller bodied, especially for a saison. Tart, dry, tangy palate. Finishes like a cidery champagne. Nice across the board. Last rating until 1,000. Wheeewwww, buddy.

pours a pale yellow with huge, soapy head that leaves little lacing. Smells of citrus, and notes of hay and bananas. Taste is light sweet with a dry, light bitterness on the backend. Highly carbonated, almost fIzzy. Overall, a nice brew with a clean, crisp taste. Would have again.

750 ml bottle. From bierkompass.de.
Hazy orange colour with small white head. Malt, earth, farmyard, yeast, wheat and floury grain in aroma. Malty powdery earthy flavour with yeast, grain and mild hops. Not that great Saison. Disappointment.

On draught at Blue Monk, Buffalo - November 20, 2010. Hazy, bubbly gold with a solid long-lasting creamy/fizzy off-white head and some drapes sticking to the sides. While a tad cold, the aroma is pleasing, if mild - spicy, a bit grassy (dry grass) some alcohol and only a hint of pear sweetness. Taste is quite dry - like a grassy trippel, very restrained alcohol, nicely balanced - soft mouthfeel, only mildly carbonated, a hint of astringency in the finish, low-level ... quite delicate, it takes its time opening up and is never big, but very, very tasty and drinkable.

(Bottle) Pours clear dark yellow with and off-white head. The aroma is fantastic – dough, ginger, Swedish Pommac, citrus (lime, lemon and grapefruit), light phenolic, flower, shop, light straw, biscuit, white bread, cinnamon, lavender, chamomile tea, mint herbal, violet, cigarette smoke, dry marzipan, and wild strawberries. The subtle hops and esters blend well. Complex nose, but you have to spend some time with it. The flavor is light sweet, light bitter and light acidic. Tones of doughty yeast, cracker and bready malt, mild citric hops, tart fruity and light peppery spicy. Also light notes of flowers and herbal tea. The mouthfeel is clean, soft, bit creamy and light tart with light carbonation. Citric and porridge finish. Lavender and heather also lingers. Medium bodied.

This one hit the spot on a hot sumer afternoon playing bocce. The pour is hazy peach with a monster of a white head. Then nose holds some yeasty breadiness, lemon zest, and yummy cheesecloth. The flavor was much the same, with a nice dry crisp acidity coming through. Thin palate with high effervescence, but great for those summer occasions.
