Small white head. Slightly hazy deep yellow body. Deep resiny oranges and sage aroma with earthy coriander notes. Sweet-dryish earthy mealy dusty taste with oranges notes. Fullish body. Mild, dusty mouthfeel. Dryish sage and oranges aftertaste with coriander notes. Nice, but a bit too sweet. (0.75l bottle, Håndverkerstuene, Oslo.)

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle-orange hue with a fizzy big bubble white head. spicy lite musty nose with some nice esters (leaves, corriander, mint, ginger) with some grassy notes. Earthy hops, spicy (brett) sugary malts, with big carbonation-some banyard notes come out more as it warmed-more like a true belgian than say a jolly pumpkin beer. Fairly earthy finish with some buttery notes-dont think its diacytl though-didnt show up in the nose. the heavy carbonation detracted for me, even though alot of this style have heavily carbonated palates. good!!!!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
First of all, I drank this on a very hot day. That made it very refreshing.
The nose was very lemongrass. It had a very full palate. Citrus like flavors, like orange peel, and other spices, mellow bitterness, not much sweetness to counter. Dry finish. I would say its very complex. Good stuff!

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Golden amber with a tall, foamy white head. Strong dusty yeast, powdery malt, grassy and floral hops and dried fruit in the nose. Soft spice and earthy notes as well. Taste is semi-sweet with fruit notes, big dusty yeast, soft spice, floral hops, wheat, earthy notes, straw, grass, citrus zest and malt. Body is light-medium with a strong, bubbly, effervescent carbonation. Dry towards the finish as well. Ends with more big yeast notes, floral hops, grassy hops, light spice, dried tropical fruit, grains, and malt notes.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(750ml bottle from Total Wine Desert Ridge). Pours a cloudy yellow-orange color with piloow-top white head. Active carbonation. Aroma has lemon, spices, pepper and wheat. Taste is malty sweet, emphasis on malt, with some bittness. I’m not digging the maltiness at all. Medium bodied with oily texture. Slightly bitter finish. Not bad, but too malt forward for my tastes.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a nice cloudy golden orange color, with a frothy white head. Aroma is fairly hoppy for a saison, with notes of citrus, orange, grassy notes, some barnyard, hay notes, caramelt and sweet malts, and an almost eggy funk. The flavor is also fairly hoppy with the citrus and orange with fresh grassy notes, hay and barnyard. I also get the caramel and sweet malts. The body is medium with an IPA dryness. Overall a pretty nice and fairly hoppy Saison, but not as good as an Saison Dupont for example.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Stillwater is currently my favorite brewery. This stateside has a hint of lemonds as well as a slight hint of cherries. Great appearance and went well with steak and scallops. Great for the summertime.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Monks’s in Philly. Good beer, aroma more of glassware than of beer. Attractive deep orange blonde appearance. Nice taste and finish though. Sweet sugars and spices. Malty orange hops and earthy appeal.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
THOUGHTS: A very nice American example of a saison. If I didn’t know any better I would have sworn it was from Belgium. Almost too dry, though, which made it a little hard to drink after a while.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a quite hazy, light to medium orange with beautiful carbonation and a large to huge, off-white head the mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was light light-colored bread; a hint of caramel; light to moderate lemon and lime hops (almost like 7Upor Sierra Mist); slight grapefruit and orange hops; moderate to heavy cheesy, funky and spicy yeasts; slight doughy yeast and pepper. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly acidic; while the finish was rather sweet, moderately acidic, light to moderately bitter and lightly sour. There was light bread, sugar cookie, citrus hops (lemon and lime), funky yeast, dusty yeast, spicy yeast, doughy yeast, slight grapefruit and orange hops, sour lemon and pepper. The medium to full body was very dry with fizzy, pinprick carbonation and a dry and slightly astringent finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle.
Pours a dark, dirty, hazy orange colour with a large, white, foamy head. Aroma of strong sweet fruits such as mandarin orange, lemon and some caramel. Flavour of caramel, sweet fruits such as mandarin orange, some sour notes, yeast and mild spices. Medium bodied with a thick mouthfeel and smooth carbonation. Smooth, fruity, slightly sour finish. Better than Cellar Door definitely.
