3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2010 Bottle shared with the Chicago crew, thanks to Kan! Poured a hazy light orange with a white head that lasts and laces a bit. Aroma was light with mainly floral and citrus notes with a bit of underlying honey, brett and spice. There is more brett funkiness on the tongue with floral and citrus notes and a decent amount of spice. A good saison but not great for me.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle shared by Kan. Pours a deep darker gold, a bit of glowing yellow, full haze, decent bright white bigger film laces ok. Aromas are dusty bananas, hay, grainy breads with a faint spiciness, vanilla, honey, a touch of pear. Mellow brett. Initial is mellow sweetness, estery fruits, vanilla, light floral hopping. Mellow sweetness, fruit, a touch of lemon and pear, honey, vanilla, mellow. Light florals, lighter end of medium bodied, a lot of apple works in, with a touch of spice and yeast. Nice, not really funky, more a mellow fruity saison, with a decent soapy floral hop presence on the nose, smooth finish with a touch of bitterness. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL bottle, no date from Dyan. Slightly hazy amber with a one finger off-white creamy head, fair retention. Belgian yeast and earthly front with some coriander and citrus hops, light biscuity malt. Flavor is much the same with some lemon and a tinge of leather. Semi-dry finish with bitterness at a 3, tinge of alcohol noted. Moderately high carbonation with a light to medium body. Pretty good saison, even by Belgian standards.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared at a recent BA/RB tasting... Poured cloudy, golden/amber with a white head. Nice yeasty flavors. The aroma had esters and yeast stuff going on. The esters in the flavor hinted towards citrus. Lots of spice, vanilla sweetness with more yeast spiciness coming into play.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Andy and Max’s fantasy tasting, I think thanks to Paul. - Hazy orange, foamy white head, funky and a bit spicey, herbal. caramel and biscuity malts. Finishes a bit astringent, but still well balanced. Smooth mouthfeel, a but creamy. Tasty with a touch of funk. Nice Saison.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This shit it da bomb. Beautiful looking beer with a thick head that fades slowly and leaves a nice lacing behind it. I think this was batch 2, not sure though. The base saison is on the money, slightly biscuit sweet with nuanced fruitiness combined with a nice hop fruitiness (citra I believe). Doughy yeastiness throughout the beer. Great thick mouthfeel that goes down easy with the accompanying hops easing of pressure on the aftertaste. I could have drank this for hours. I am only hesitant to give it even a higher score until I can sit down with a whole bottle to myself. This was shared by Paul, thanks Paul.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very light copper with a solid frothy/creamy head that sticks around to 1-2 fingers. Aroma is very dry grassy hay, and the taste follows suit. As a rule, I stay away from American brewed Belgian styles, & this one is definitely going to be an exception. The carbonation & mouthfeel are near perfect., and the finish goes right along with it.
