Originally reviewed: 11/25/12. Went to a friend’s this last holiday weekend and we cracked this one among others. Poured into a mason jar (that’s all we had at the time). Pours a fair honey gold with a big frothy white head on top. Great retention; leaves lots of sticky lace. There are a ton of bubbles rising through this one, feeding the head. The nose is yeasty, tart, earthy, and mildly fruity. Some pineapple noted. The bubbles create a prickly feel that borders on harsh. I know many of this style are over-carbonated in my experience, but I really wish this was tamed down a smidge. Flavors of pineapple, apple, lemon pepper, dirt, spicy yeast. This is flavorful as all get out. There’s a lack of sweetness though, that would help balance it out a bit more. This was a good domestic take on the style. It’s not a style I visit often, but this was good. Thanks, Marco!

Bottle. 6.8%. Best before 11.09.16. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head. Good lacing. Grassy, citruy hop aroma, slightly tart, with a hint of berries and a light yeast note. Much the same flavour, as well as fruity and with a light spicy note. Finish is a bit fat, bordering grainy, with citrus, grass and yeast notes. Mild alcohol burn as it warms. Lingering mild bitterness followed by more grass and a green apple note. Overall good. 08.07.16.

Fruity and a bit spicy beer. Has a lot in common with a regular Belgian blond beer. Good beer, but nothing special.

From tap at Oedipus International Beer Festival 2016. Aroma is light malt, mildly funky yeast, ripe fruits, touch of apples, light spicy. Flavour is above moderate sweet and a little bit tart with a light bitter finish. Body is medium. Bit of a sweetish Saison, enjoyable.

The beer is slightly turbid and yellow. The foam is white and comes up right. The foam has small bubbles and disappear quickly. The foam does not leave any direct traces in the glass. The aroma is slightly malty. The smells of bread will and lots of herbs. Here are hints of lemon, some gooseberry and a little clove. Some sweet notes of honey, little guys in Nassan. The taste has a dull malt flavor that is a little brödig. Here are some flavors of lemon, gooseberry, a little honey and cloves. Here are considerably more herbs and a little grassy flavor. Some bitterness sitting in a while. Light to medium body. Moderate to high crispy Carbonic. Herbaceous and fresh in flavor, good balance. A little dry and earthy. Occasionally bitterness which lasts for a while.

Complex aroma of red fruit, bubblegum, pepper. Pale, cloudy, rocky head. Medium bitterness, thin feel but somehow not sharp, lively, astringent finish. An excellent one.
