Bottle. Pours a murky light amber with a small white head that fades to a ring. Aroma is yeasty, with sweet malt, citrus hops, and rich spices. Taste of sweet preserved citrus, malt, sugar, baking spices, and yeast. Lingering light sweet spiciness. Nice saison.

Rated from notes taken 24 Sep 2011 -- A really really good Saison. Plenty of esthers to capture your attention and a good enough overall beer to keep it. Delightful.

swanmann (615) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - NOV 22, 2014
12 oz bottle: Bright and golden with orange tint and about an inch of white foam, dissipating fairly quickly. The aroma is lemony, with a bit of barnyard funk, green apple, biscuit. It’s a bit tart, black peppery, almost like a chardonnay, finishes a bit funky. It’s medium bodies with sort of creamy mouthfeel, adequate but soft carbonation. The funk seems a little intense, off-putting.

Honeyish lemony Belgian aroma. Fairly sweet, woody, moderately bitter. Sourish finish. Beer Stop, Tallahassee.

Big bold saison that makes you pay attention. Opens with a bite similar to rye. Orange and yeast flavors in the middle. Closes with hop bitterness and lingering caramel. Not a quenching beer, but a very good one.

Bottle from Bo Brooks’ Liquors, Baltimore. Clear gold, with a slight, white, head and touch of fizziness. Light, floral hop and lemongrass aroma, with a peppery edge. Full-flavoured drinking, with lemon and stone fruits, a yeasty edge , more hops and a decent, bitter finish. Very good.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique Jun2013. Thus is a good saison with plenty of flavour. Thick body for a saison and fruity finish.

"has potential, but so overcarbonated, that after it was done foaming (just a little, i’ve seen way worse) i took a swig. the slightest swish in my mouth caused the beer to expand to the point i could barely swallow it. gassy in the belly too, as was the St F Saison. However, the balance of spice, earthyness, malt and tart was so nice as to almost be able to overlook this shortcoming. almost. i wanted to love this beer and just liked it.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden with a nice sticky snow white head. Aroma has some nice spicy notes, a touch of saffron, a hint of bubble gum. Flavor is solid with some biscuit-like bready notes, some saffron-like spiciness, a bit of bubble gum sweetness, some pear-like fruitiness. Solidly thick mouthfeel. Very impressed.

Banana, clove, lemon rind, floral, stone fruit, perfume-y, sauv blanc. Frothy, creamy texture, fine carbo.
