Cloudy gold pour with a 2 finger, creamy white head. Aroma is cereal grain, grass, fruity and spicy esters, stone fruit, citrus and light floral and pine notes. Flavor is fruity and spicy up front, tree and stone fruit, peppery, clove and ginger spice, nice orange marmalade and grassy finish. Medium body, oily, chalky entry leading to a moderate strength, blanketing and somewhat sharp carbonation and chalky somewhat slick and dry finish. Good stuff, it hides itís booze decently, but like many other Saisons it would probably be better at around 75% of its strength. I really like the hop profile though.

750 from the bargain bin at QFC. Super carbonated pour into a shaker glass, with about 5 inches of head to go with 1 inch of clear gold liquid. Lots of time to get the nose on this I guess. Oh yeah, semi-regular lacing (like popcorn cumulus convection viewed from a satellite, if youíre one of the few for whom that holds any meaning). Aroma is dominated by the yeast esters, reminiscent of Saison Dupont. Bubblegum, melon, cotton candy, soft lemon, more like lemon meringue. Taste is lovely. Remarkably quaffable. Lightly sweet, more melon and meringue in the middle, subtly bitter in the finish. Notably missing are pepper or mineral character, but this is still very clearly a farmhouse ale in spirit. Palate: medium body, suprisingly creamy texture; lively carbonation; surprisingly dry finish considering the sweet descriptors Iíve used so far. Overall: This is really quite fine. A lovely straightforward quaffable saison -- no funk, but so well-balanced, and with a flavor profile all of its own.

December 9, 2014 - bottle from Wine and Cheese. Clear yellow pour with nice amount of head that lasted for a bit. Aroma was citrus, spice, yeast and some hops. Taste was consistent with the aroma and nicely balanced. Very mild bitter finish with a touch of pepper.

Rated from notes taken 24 Sep 2011 -- A really really good Saison. Plenty of esthers to capture your attention and a good enough overall beer to keep it. Delightful.

12 oz bottle: Bright and golden with orange tint and about an inch of white foam, dissipating fairly quickly. The aroma is lemony, with a bit of barnyard funk, green apple, biscuit. Itís a bit tart, black peppery, almost like a chardonnay, finishes a bit funky. Itís medium bodies with sort of creamy mouthfeel, adequate but soft carbonation. The funk seems a little intense, off-putting.

Big bold saison that makes you pay attention. Opens with a bite similar to rye. Orange and yeast flavors in the middle. Closes with hop bitterness and lingering caramel. Not a quenching beer, but a very good one.

Bottle from Bo Brooksí Liquors, Baltimore. Clear gold, with a slight, white, head and touch of fizziness. Light, floral hop and lemongrass aroma, with a peppery edge. Full-flavoured drinking, with lemon and stone fruits, a yeasty edge , more hops and a decent, bitter finish. Very good.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique Jun2013. Thus is a good saison with plenty of flavour. Thick body for a saison and fruity finish.
