On at Caponeís. Poured a golden color with a small sized head. Citrus, grapefruit, pine, and lighter caramel. Definite grapefruit / rinds.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a creamy off white head that leaves pretty good lacing. Faint aroma of grapefruit and grass. Medium bitter and lightly sweet taste in a medium body with average to lively carbonation and a very long grapefruit dominated bitter finish.

On draft at Tria Taproom. Poured orange with few splotches of lace. Flavor of pine and fresh cut grapefruit. Smooth and not too bitter or sweet. Great stuff.

If have to say that this tastes like enjoy by or reunation to me. Tim searching and searching to grapefruit and not finding it. By itself it a standout double ipa. However not so impressed with the grapefruit factor.

I guess with a name like Grapefruit Slam I shouldnít have expected otherwise, but the grapefruit really stands out here -- almost too much. I canít really taste anything else. Intensely bitter but very drinkable and refreshing. A little one-dimensional.

What happens when you combine high alpha hops with grapefruit peel in a DIPA? Disappointment unfortunately. This beer is well-balanced and hides its 8.2% ABV very well; but I expected the grapefruit peel to magnify the grapefruit notes in the west coast hops and it didnít. My bomber bottle had none on the nose. A very good beer, but not worth $7.99 for the grapefruit peel ingredient the brand promised.

Bottle, from the Beer Dispensary, Apex. Real good aroma, sweet , citrus candy. Orange and grapefruit rule the day. Glowing brownish orange color, good initial head, faded to a ring, spotty lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Medium body, thick creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Good, aroma is best part. Flavor is a more one sided bitterness. Aroma is. Wonderful thing.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/12/14
Aroma: The nose is lots of grapefruit rind, with lots of hops (citrus, pine, floral, etc.)
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a small white head and sticky lace
Flavor: Grapefruit comes through less than the nose, minimal sweetness, and a big hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a soft carbonation, and a long, dry finish to it
This is a pretty tasty beer. You really notice the grapefruit when the beer is opened up. That first whiff is all grapefruit, but once that fades, you get a pretty unbalanced (not in a bad way) IPA. This one is bitter and hoppy and good, but the rest of the beer just doesnít quite live up to the promise of the aroma.

Another amazing IPA created under Stone's sphere of influence! Grapefruit is the most prominent feature in the nose and taste, which it should be being called Grapefruit Slam. The 8.2% ABV is hidden masterfully. No taste of alcohol and little to no alcohol warming on the way down. Very refreshing and very well done. Highly recommend to all hopheads!

Artificial but ok. Yellow gold pour with thin white head. Aroma is virtually. Taste is like a floral and citrus perfume. Bitter and chemical. Canít say.Iím a fan. Drinkable, but that is it.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very little in the way of powerful citrus aroma I expected. Very bitter throughout. The only real grapefruit feel would be a taste similar to the white pith of the grapefruit skin. No where near the clean refreshing grapefruit and citrus I was expecting... Enjoy by iipa soooooo more enjoyable for me..
