3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sadly this emphasizes the least palatable portions of the grapefruit flavor profile. The aromas are far more muted than expected with just a touch of citrus shining through. This beer is harsh and pithy, completely lacking any sense of refreshing tartness. I blame the hop selection, Chinook and Centennial are both wrong for this beer and add to the dry, flowery and pithy characters previously noted. Nelson, Galaxy, or perhaps even Apollo hops would showcase broader, vaguely sweet flavor notes from the peel and lend a bit more balance. Bordering on not enjoyable, avoid unless you are a hardcore Centennial fiend.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from bomber a bright copper orange with thin lacey white head. Aromas of big grapefruit peel, orange zest, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, citrus rind, floral, grass, pine, light caramel and floral/grassy earthiness. The grapefruit flavour comes into play; however, it is quickly taken over by harsh resiny hops that shows citrus, pine, spice, earthiness and is quite harsh and resiny. An ok double, but I had higher expectations. Shame on me.

Bottle @ home.
Hazy with full head. Grapefruit makes a late appearance, more caramel with booze and liberal dry-hopping.

"This one just screams have me for breakfast! Grapefruit candy sweetness and some fairly aggressive bitterness in there as well. They play off each other well. A delicious one dimensional IIPA."

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle shared and poured into shaker pints. Clear amber body with a 2-finger white head. Patchy lacing and good retention. Very strong grapefruit peel aroma, with citrus juice, caramel, cracker, and herbal undertones. Taste follows the nose: grapefruit juice and peel play sweet and bitter, other citrus peel, caramel malt sweetness, and some hoppy herb bite compliment the intended thrust. Medium body, resinous texture, moderate carbonation, strongly bitter, dry finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the bottle into a La Fin Du Mode stemmed glass.
The color is a clear yellow/gold with two fingers of foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass.
The smell is filled with grapefruit aroma and has a real juicy fruit flavor. The hops seem to be right down the center and pops several times. There is a nice lemongrass aroma that makes the mouth water for a taste.
The taste of this beer is giving the grapefruit flavor that was promised by the name. The bitterness hangs over this beer like a canopy with some touches of earthy grass flavor mixed in a grainy center. The bitterness comes back towards the end to slow down things like a speed bump.
The feel of this beer is medium bodied with a nice drinkable, refreshing feel. A great I PA that brings the flavor and is quite enjoyable.

Pours a nice golden color with a foamy white head. Huge aroma of orange, lemon, grapefruit, melon, and pine, Also a bit of hay. Huge notes of grapefruit in the taste. Lots of citrus and small amount of pine. Very bitter, nice hop selection leaves your mouth nice and bitter. Slight maltiness forms the backbone of this beer. Really nice mouth feel. Very refreshing. Awesome IPA.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with firm white head. Nose is grapefruit as you'd expect, citrus and a honey sweetness. Taste is really bitter! Grapefruit up front and citrus. Bitterness lingers.
