Well, it was the free crystal glasses that 'forced' me to buy this beer. Cost about 2 bucks, so don't know where the other Aussies where buying from. It is yet another premium example of Australian mainstream quality beer, ie. pretty crappy. It definitely has a stale bitterness to it. Bland, boring, but harmless and easily disposed of. I have tasted a lot worse, but when you are hooked with the 'Single Malt' guff, you expect something better.

Who let the skunks out? Boasts about being a premium ’single malt’ beer, whatever that means. There’s not much malt in here, just the same heavy bitterness in the aftertaste as most Australian Standards. If this $1.00 I wouldn’t mind, but $3.30 for a bottle of skunkwater? no way!

Way overprices for such a well below average beer. Pours a pale gold clear with a medium size and medium lasting light cream coloured head. Odour is a very faint metallic hops and cigarette butt blocked urinal. As it warms and if you swirl the glass a faint floral disinfectant aroma develops. Weak watery body with remnants of bad night on the tiles mouth feel. The only flavour I got was a mild stale boring bitter. Another Aussie lager for the drain my friends.

This was really foul. I don’t know who to be more angry at, the brewers for giving it a price of $4.50 or me for paying it. Very pale, very thin, virtually no bitterness, mildly sweet and soapy, with a nasty, dirty edge to the flavour, kind of like the Carlsberg you get in Asia (bleugh). Proves that using malt, hops, and water only can’t stop brewers from making really bad beer when they put their minds to it.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2003 Another 'premium' on the aussie market, i was a bit hesitant to try it, and rightly so. A bland, boring, fizzy little concoction. I'd rather drink VB, coz at least its not trying to be something its not. This beer is a joke.
