Commercial Description:
A deliciously creamy stout in the Irish tradition. This deep, coffee-colored beer has the aroma and flavor of chocolate, roasted oats and coffee with a rich tan head. Specially brewed for Trader Joe's.

Nice sweet malt nose. Pours almost totally black in the glass with a smallish tan head that disappears quickly. Chocolate malted flavor. Little carbonation, but not flat either. More watery that its appearance would suggest. Scored at Trader Joe’s for 5 bucks a sixer. A good value for the money

(Bottle) Aroma rich, caramelly and malty with a little roast. Flavour slightly sweet, hardly bitter, and with a coarse sourness that I like. Very coarse texture, which I like. But, too heavy, too sweet, in my opinion. This would be an outstanding brew if it were not so heavy and sweet. What was the alcohol content? The alcohol was evident in the flavor and aroma and I am wondering if this also contributed to the heaviness of this beer.

Bottle - Another found at Trader Joes. Poured a light carbonation dark color. A sweet mild stout, some roasted malt quality and light chocolate notes. A steal at 6 for $6 and not a bad stout just nothing really outstanding with this one. Mild good drinker.

One of the advantages of moving to the Midwest: being able to get this at Trader Joe’s for $6/6-pack. You won’t find a better beer for the price. Maybe not the equal of a Sam Smith, but on a grad student budget, it’s nice to know that someone’s looking out for you.

Deeply brown and red to the eye. Malt, coffee, sugarcane and maple on the nose, with a densely coffee malt flavor; aftertastes of dark chocolate and oatmeal. Very smooth, with neither excessive bite nor slime. Chewy. Extremely enjoyable, great as a late dessert with or without a brownie.
