2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle into an English pint, ruby in color small rapidly diminishing light brown head that lacked much lacing at all.Malt aroma was average with notes of chocolate and cola. Medium mouth but a bit thin and lively for an oatmeal stout. Not a bad session stout.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not a standout stout but a great value for and enjoyable glass. Good bubbly head with aromas of molasses coffee and straw. A little less distinct on the palate.

Bottle. Chocolate fudge malt and hay aroma. Dark brown with small tan head. Sweet chocolate oatmeal malt and lightly bitter hay flavor. Nice body. Pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle. Cola dark brown color, light tan head that sticks. The aroma is sweet with notes of milk chocolate, whipped cream, slight diacetyl, metal, herbs, and peat. Flavor is light, some mild peat, fruits, caramel, chocolate, roast. It is on the drier side but I guess can be considered sweet because of the creamy body and brandied milk chocolate flavor that is in the finish.

"a highly roasted oatmeal stout bought on the cheap at trader joes. a decent beer, and a great value for the price, but there are surely better oatmeal stouts out there."

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Molasses aroma. Bitterness up front from chocolate and roasted malt. Not too heavy though. Maybe a bit of a metallic taste in there. Pretty easy drinking for a stout and pretty good overall.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle. Best by 02-11-15. Dark brown color with thin lasting head in my Guinness 16 oz. pint glass. Aroma got me excited, dark chocolate, oats and traces of coffee.
I wish the flavor was as good as the aroma. Still has dry roast, oats, chocolate and a weak hint of vanilla. The body is medium and better then I was first guessing. The texture is creamy with a nice velvet mouthfeel. This is actually better than Goose Island " The Muddy" I sampled yesterday. So for the price this is really good and decent drinkability.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is not really my favorite style but I think Trader Joes and Gordon Biersch did a good job e/ it. A fine head of brown bubbles sits on black liquid here. There is a nice chocolate character to the roasted malt. This is very much on the sweet side for a regular gravity stout and quite sugary, which seems to bring out that chocolate and a bit of a raisin note. It finishes sticky on the tongue w/ just a small touch of bitterness. I prefer my stouts to be much dryer than this but for those who like it a bit sweet, this should hit the spot.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A great find from Trader Joes at only $5.99 a six pack
chocolate, mocha, tobacco, with with a nice mild bitter bite.
real nice lacing and readily available as a Trader Joes staple.
Tastes like oat stouts which would command a higher price. Its thinner than a lot of Oat stouts but also easier to drink. Probably could squeeze in a few bottles after dinner with no problem which would be hard to do with a oat stout like Samuel Smith.
Definitely a beer buyers best buy boycotting big budget brands.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark pour, hints of amber, thin tan head. Nose is coffee powder. Sweet. Middle is dark roasted grain, hint chocolate. Finish is coffee powder again, slightly dry. Better than decent.
