Pale yellow, some head. Aroma of sweet malts and some grain. The taste is more sweet malts, weak floral hops. Refreshingly crisp carbonation, mouthfeel on the softer side. The finish is weakly bitter. It’s not offensive in any way, fairly drinkable.

Bottle. A very average Russian lager in every aspect. Some herbal sweetness in the taste and that’s it. As it warms up, the alcohol bitterness becomes more noticeable.

MoritzF (8402) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 23, 2010
(bottle, 5.0% abv, bought today in a Russian supermarket in Bochum, Germany) Clear, pale golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Moderately sweet, slightly grainy malty aroma with a milky touch and shy traces of herbal hops far in the background. Moderately sweet and faintly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Pale malt-character, slightly buttery taste, “enriched” by grainy elements; medium-dry malty finish with very restrained hoppy notes. Nevertheless drinkable. 23.VI.10

Bottle; not sure of the age. Poured a clear gold with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt and butterscotch. A bit flat like everyone else said. Some buttery/butterscotch sweetness. Not much hopping as expected. Not very flavorful, but there isn’t anything overtly bad about it.

BeerLimey (2154) - California, USA - OCT 8, 2005
Dull golden appearance, fairly lifeless pour. Damp dog aroma. Sweetish butterscotch malt flavor, slight crispness towards the finish. I’d think this was spoiled but looks like the couple of reviewers before me got the same comments.

Nice malty lager, golden colored, full-bodied with big foamy head. Ochakovo is one of the most "European" brewers in Russia.

Medium light gold color. Small head. Aroma is malty, sweet and cornish. A medium bodied pale lager. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly spicy. Kind of watery and flat tasting (dead carbonation) Hints of butterscotch. Way too sweet. Kind of bland and watery. On the plus side it has no signs of skunkyness. There is also a touch of spiciness to the hops. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
