COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a saison of sorts; hellaciously herbaceous and hopefully contagious. This was not a ready made ale. But it is a ready made collaboration. Meaning Stone and Victory are 2 breweries that are exactly like Dogfish in that they do/brew exactly what they love and they do/brew it exactly like no other brewery out there. (Love - lots of it in this bottle)

-Samuel A Calagione

Ale brewed with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.

12 oz. bottle- Pours hazy golden with a thin white head that reduces to a collar. Aroma is strong in rosemary thyme and sage. The taste is the same, only much more complex, those spices are at the forefront, but there is the whole Belgian Ale thing going on in there as well. Body is medium and carbonation is fairly high. Overall I would have a hard time comparing it to the other version of this I have had, the Dogfish one, I drank that a while ago, but this is good, just not great.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy gold color with a big fluffy white head. Strong aroma of grassy hops and rosemary. Spices are definitely more pronounced in the Dogfish version. Taste is herbal, sweet belgian yeast, slightly citric, with mild grassy hops.

Bottle: Light peach color, hazy, small white head. Grainy nose, herbal, and spicey. Too much mint is detrimental... Taste is potent; orange zest, more mint, and dandelion. Very herbal and spicey... over the top really. Way too much so for this guy even though I wanted to like it.

A - Pours a hazy light golden brass. Small head that dissipates quickly. S - Lots of fresh cut herbs-oregano, rosemary and grapefruit. Tangy yeast. T - Bright fruit - strawberries and apples. Has some soft spice mixed with garlic notrs. Prickly hop bitterness. Tart honey hay. No funkiness. A very sharp and crisp beer. Strange for the style. Very herbal and quite refreshing. Good drinking but probably wouldn’t seek this out. Serving type: on-tap 10-05-2010

22 oz. bottle from Ryan and Casey’s Liquors marked 2012 on bottle neck. Tulip glass shows hazy gold with light soapy head. Nose is all the herbs the brews mention. Mostly sage. Flavor again is very herbal and Earthy. Light cracker and lemon notes. Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme are all there with some pale malts. Overall for me it is thirst quenching but I can’t drink a large amount of it. One and done.

Catching up on some old ratings 2010. Appears bright golden yellow with a touch of haze. Big off white head with nice lace. Smell starts with fruit then pine with lots of spicy notes. Taste is quite herbal - almost overpowering. Some light malt sweetness in the middle finishing quite dry. Light/medium body with tight carbonation which makes it pretty smooth. I liked everything except for the punch of herbs in my mouth.

Pours a yellow orange, right in between the two. Aroma is pine, citrus, spices and grass. Taste is doughy sweet with earthy tangy undertones. More complex then I thought. Nice bitter dry finish. Very refreshing and I think underrated .

A nice citrus aroma with a touch of bitter hops and alcohol. Taste is very similar to the smell with pepper. A good beer but nothing too special for a saison.
