4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Fred82 (1997) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 10, 2010
12oz bottle from Winooski bevereage warehouse.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a huge foamy whote head. Some lacing.
Aroma : Very spicy. Crisp hops, some fruity esters. Flowery and yeasty. Spices comes up in front of everything else. Light peppery notes. Some passion fruits also.
Taste : Spicy and floral. Some yeast. Finish is rather bitter still with a lot of spices. Intense spices. Carbonation is really soft. A bit pepery. Herbal also.
Overall : Lovely yeasty and spicy nose. Spices are a bit too much but it is still an amazing aroma. Very easydrinking and refreshing. Soft carbonations makes it even more drinkable. Very nice beer. Perfect summer drink.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 greenhorn1 (669) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUL 9, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear straw color with a very active carbonation. The aroma smells of....well, I don’t know. It’s sweet, maybe even a bit peppery, but it is not overbearing and quite pleasant. I would have to say the same about the taste, but the herbs are much more noticeable. Is that butter I taste, and I don’t mean the bad kind where the beer is skunked. It is light, yet creamy on the palate. Interesting beer, but the deeper I got into the bottle, the more I enjoyed.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 RyanMM (411) - Ferndale, Michigan, USA - JUL 9, 2010
Pours a clear light gold with an immense and fluffy white head. I had to pour it in three stages because it was almost foaming over the top of my tulip. Nose presents some hoppy notes along with a bit of the spices mentioned on the label. The smells blends together enough that I’m having trouble really isolating them, but it’s overall very pleasant. Very spicy on the tongue, but not a hot or abrasive spiciness, just pleasant. Somewhat bitter on the finish, no real sweetness to speak of. An interesting beer but not something I’m compelled to have another of.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tgncc (2334) - Bellmore, New York, USA - JUL 9, 2010
The aroma is strong herbs and spices, pepper, yeast. The appearance is hazy yellow, white head. The flavor is rosemary, pepper, lemon. The finish is purely spices. Between thin and medium in body. Interesting saison.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 urbnhautebourg (997) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - JUL 9, 2010
Maybe I’m crazy, but I found much more herb character in its flavor than its aroma. The aroma reminded me more of the smell of those exceedingly hoppy IPAs. But the taste definitely shows the herbs. I had a good time drinking this one, trying to figure out if it was too dry/bitter (for it truly is that), or if the balance was actually perfect, in order to stave off too much herb and sweetness. I would be particularly interested in tasting this after it had some age on it. I have a feeling that the sharpness would dull, but the balance would remain.

Hmm, interesting use of spices and herbs in this one, and while it may not be the most definitive example of this style, it is still, in my opinion, a pretty well made and tasty beer, which to me is what matters most.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopson (635) - Williamsville, New York, USA - JUL 8, 2010
bottle at coles- buffalo- thanks Mike- super medicinal aroma, which was oddly pleasant- menthol, moves into herby rosemary spice flavors, with typical bready saison yeast flavors following- strange, and may need more time to develop- but nice.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 swoopjones (4326) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUL 8, 2010

Wow, I thought this was going to suck when I saw the label. It did so! Pizza beer for sure. This would be an excellent beer to cook with, but to schwill no way

Bottle thanks to Ben! Poured a hazy gold with a white head that lasted. Aroma had notes of pine and citrus with plenty of underlying spice, particularly sage. Flavor was sweet with grain and citrus with a bit of underlying pine and a good amount of rosemary with other spices underlying.
