Itís a saison of sorts; hellaciously herbaceous and hopefully contagious. This was not a ready made ale. But it is a ready made collaboration. Meaning Stone and Victory are 2 breweries that are exactly like Dogfish in that they do/brew exactly what they love and they do/brew it exactly like no other brewery out there. (Love - lots of it in this bottle)

Definitely not my kind of beer. Pours a pale wheat and is very appealing visually. However, the additional spices used in this brew are overpowering. They would complement a beer with more malt or slightly more hoppiness. I like to drink beer not drink part of my spice rack.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste sweet, spice. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle, 2012 vintage from the Pour House in Montrose, CO. Appearance: finger white head, golden clear, head is gone to slight film almost instantly. Aroma: spicy hops, sage, thyme, rosemary, sweet fruit, light floral hops. Palate: light body, average carbonation, oily texture, light spicy, light bitter spice finish. Taste: light sweet fruit, into a sage and thyme herb and spice taste, on into a light rosemary spice and a bit of spicey hops bitter finish. Overall, very complex, love the way the spices are balanced in this beer, very enjoyable and refreshing.

I has this from a bottle at home in a snifter. It pours clear with a modest head and has a muted spicy aroma and taste. It is moderately sweet with light bitterness and a finish that is not as dry as standard saison a. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a clear golden yellow color with an ample amount of small carbonated bubbles that were seen rising. A one finger white foamy head formed and dissipated within a minute. The smell definitely had the sage up front and did allow a nice sweet refreshing fruitiness to combine and invade. Light lemon surrounds. The taste was sweet and herbal combined nicely. There was a light herbal aftertaste that led to a slight refreshing finish. On the palate, this one sat a light on the body with a decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation finishes smooth and refreshing. Overall, I say this was a good saison Iíd have again.

Light hansa gold color, small head. Big sage sweet nose. It's like an Italian pasta spice galore nose. Herbal hops, lemony refreshing kick. Quick vanishing with a bit lingering herbal note on the top of the roof. Nice summer brew.

Pours a clear pilsner yellow with a bit of wispy head. Nose is lemon, herbal, parsley, black pepper, basil? Taste is extremely herbal, peppery, lemon, minty, sage. Not terrible, not good though ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a golden color with white head. Very herbal on the nose, with some floral notes as well; follows onto the palate. Itís different but good.

Draught @ Flying Saucer, Addison. Hazy dark gold pour, bright white - quickly fading - head. You really smell the herbs in there: parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Also grassy, the saison yeast. Bit sweet in the beginning, but the spices quickly appear. Fairly dry finish; enter the hops. Interesting!

0.355l bottle from Whole Foods Market - Tribeca. My first beer in NYC, and my god I need a beer now! In my plastic cup, this one pours a lovely looking blurry peach-golden body with a small but lacing white head. Smells really inviting and fresh with lots of surprising spices. Is it nutmeg, thyme and cardamom? Really unexpected but quite nice. Also some grape zest, hints of hay and dandelions? Really different on the nose, and really nice! Oh, itís spicy in the taste also alright! It has a lovely oily mouthfeel with a gentle but present carbonation level. I get dried orange zest, hay, lots of herbal tea and saison yeast. Light dry mouth in the aftertaste, and there is also a hint of alcohol. Yum! 10.06.2013
